I recently became a member of on Indology. I am

interested in studying Indian epigraphy. If any one of this group has

any new research/findings please share with me.

Thanks,

Sincerely yours

B. B. Lal, former director general of the ASI, has discussed

about a 12th century inscription by king Nayachandra

with the mention of a Raama temple in a BBC interview.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/2848393.stm

"He says that an inscription unearthed after the Babri mosque

was demolished, states that "a temple was constructed by King

Nayachandra in the 12th century to honour Ram"."

Obviously, this inscription has significance.

Is the text of the 12th century inscription published?

Is Nayachandra known from other sources, inscriptions?

What dynasty did Nayachandra belong to? or, Nayachandra

a chief under a powerful king?

THE HINDU TEMPLE AT AYODHYA

PRE-BABARI MOSQUE SANSKRIT INSCRIPTION FROM AYODHYA

Ajay Mitra Shastri

ROLE OF INTELLECTUALS AND ITS CONSEQUENCES ON AYODHYA ISSUE

S.P. Gupta, Chairman. Indian Archaeological Society.

What is the bibliographic citation(s) where the 30 verses

of Nayachandra's reign, is published. Apparently, this

inscription was found about 10 yearsago by Dr. Sudha Mallaya.

Thanks,

N. Ganesan
