Since it is 40 pages long, I request that you please print it out from www.Sulekha.com (they have a printer-friendly option) and plan on spending 3 hours of quality time to read it carefully. I have spent around 250 hours of research and writing on putting this together. I have received many "threats" - including some "advice" - to not publish this. It is simply too devastating to the centers of power. Some well-wishers who have read the latest draft (which is double the size of prior ones) felt worried about my personal safety once it comes out. But I feel that what it says must come out in the open. Let the chips fall where they may. I fully expect to get attacked in all sorts of ways, but Gandhi got attacked all his life, and yet that process had to start. What we are now fighting for is a freedom of a higher kind than mere physical freedom. I am convinced that what is at stake is not just for Indic traditions' survival, but for the health of a multicultural world at large. Besides, the more they attack, they more they get exposed for their hypocrisy. I also believe that my best safety net is to go as public as I can, because, once the light goes on, thieves tend to run away. So please do set aside some time at the end of this week, and post your comments on Sulekha. The title of the column is: RISA LILA - 1: WENDY'S CHILD SYNDROME. I have already started to write the second part of this essay.
