Guest guest
RIG VEDA AND THE HISTORY OF INDIA (Rig Veda Bharata Itihaasa) By David Frawley (Vamadeva Shastri) Aditya Prakashan, 2001, New Delhi, 550 Rupies, Hardback 363 pages, ISBN 81-7742-039-9 We have a few copies of the book available for sale in USA at the price of $15.00, which includes shipping. Send payment to: American Institute of Vedic Studies PO Box 8357, Santa Fe NM 87504-8357 www.vedanet.com, vedanet@a... In addition, we have a few copies available for donation to temples, ashrams, schools etc. Please inquire if interested. The book correlates the Vedas and Puranas, kings and rishis, history and geography, and also brings out a new theory of language dissemination. It emphasizes the Rig Veda as the basis of the Bharata nation, with connections east and south in India as well as north and west into Afghanistan. While having much in common with Talageri's approach, it differs in some respects, bringing Vedic culture more into the greater Indian context.
