How to find your 'I'

Our Hindu scriptures say that you can see anything. This is because all that you

need is in the air.Why is this so?

Self knowledge always exist. It is for us to pluck it as our fruit.God is that

fruit. In other words our universal self. That is why Lord Muruga is refered to

as 'You are the fruit' ie Pahzum Nee or Palani as it is known to day.

Maharishi had given two practical approach to view our soul

1. You can see the 'i' at first sight when you wake up after sleep. I tried it

and found the true self.Even though it is fleeting at first.

2. Maintain silence. This is an age old method. It is concentration on the sound

around us and to concentrate on the source of that sound.

Of course while doing all this we must focus on Ishvara.

Maharishi also showed us the way to see the 'i' and I quote

"...An elephant's trunk is always moving around, but when a chain is given to it

to hold in its trunk, that elephant will go on its way, holding onto the chain

instead of trying to catch other things with it. Similarly, when the mind,

which is always wandering, is trained to hold onto any name or form of God, it

will only cling to that. Because the mind branches out into innumerable

thoughts, each thought becomes very weak. As thoughts subside more and more,

one-pointedness [of mind] is gained. A mind that has gained strength in this

way will easily succeed in self-enquiry. Of all regulations taking sattvic food

in moderate quantities is the best. Through [this], the sattvic quality of the

mind gets enhanced and becomes an aid to self-enquiry."

Please practice consistently and according to each individual capacity gods grace will be showered.

Lets not deal too much in what Maharishi said but what he wants us to practice.

In Sri Vidya worship and this I found in practice, When you surrender totally

God will answer your question in silence. That is the truth. Many of my doubts

were cleared this way. This actually increases your focus even more.

To Ramana Sarma:

Only Self is Real. All else is unreal, or temporal. All else is contained

within Self. Self is not contained within any thing. This world, this universe,

all universes are but a salt doll which, when dipped in water, dissolves back

into water. What appears as solid does not even exist. Begin to Identify with

Eternity. Love Truth above all else. Seek Truth above all else. Be willing to

chop off your own head (ego) to obtain Truth. Only then will you find It as

your very own Self.
