sarvArambhaparityAgI guNAtItah sa ucyate ||

(14.25) 37

---

The same in honour and dishonour, the same to friend or foe, relinquishing all

[personal] endeavours; he is said to have transcended the gunas.

--

note:

Beyond the dualities of friend and foe, pleasure and pain, with equal vision,

unmoved by praise and blame, such a one has transcended the gunas. With firm

abidance in the Self he walks the earth and sees all in the Self by the Self.

All dichotomies resolved he rejoices in bhaktijnana and is firm in jnanabhakti.
