Dear Alan,

Have a wonderful trip. It is a blessing to be able to go the

Arunachala and the ashram.

Stop by the book store and get a copy of their edition of Song or

Ribhu.

We are not two,

Richard

Dear Alan,

I agree, the Tamil song of Ribhu translation is more poetic. My wife

and I continue to read this aloud each evening.

I have not been active posting on this group for a while. While I

continue always to read the postings, my focus has been very much on

my practice.

After several years of practice of inquiry and discrimination, the

practice has recently deepened, with much greater conviction, and a

present focus in inquiry on the "substratum," That which we are and

is always present, and is constant--even when the mental state

changes, say from waking to dream state. Since it is always so, then

it is a good focus in inquiry. What is it that is always so? It

cetainly cannot be any of the changing 'objects of mind."

Next week my wife and I will go to a 5-day retreat at SAT. This is

the longest retreat of the year at SAT, and we look forward to it

greatly.

We are not two,

Richard
