Difference between Thenkalai and Vadakalai

Dear Sirs,

I've been a member of these for quite sometime now.

My respect for Srivaishnavism is on a rise ever since I have been a member.

You people are doing great work, people like me who din't know anything

much about Srivaishnavism, would definitely agree with me.

I am a Thenkalai Iyengar, but I dont know what is the difference between

Thenkalai and Vadakalai. I would be thankful if you could throw some light

on this.

Dear Sir,

The basic difference is over the nature of grace, status of Lakshmi

(whether she is a jivatma or parmatma) and the structure of the namam.

TatachAr Swamy at Melkote can help appreciate these

differences from a TennAchArya SampradhAya point of view .

At Bangalore , Sri Ranga Priya MahA Desikan can help

comprehend the Vada Kalai sampradhAya point of view .

Detaile discussions about them in an impersonal medium

would not be the best method of communication . Face to face

discussions would be the better route .
