Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya The characteristics of Bhakti are defined in various ways because of differences of opinion. VyAsa, son of ParASara, holds the view that Bhakti is expressed in genuine fondness for acts of worship. Garga says it is defined as Œa love of spiritual stories etc.¹ SANdilya says that it is attained Œby means of unimpeded, blissful abidance in the Self.¹ However, NArada says that it is defined as Œdedication of all acts to Him and great agitation when He is forgotten.¹ D. : Does not bhakti imply duality? M. : Swa swarupanusandhanam bhaktiriyyabhidheeyate (Reflection on one's own Self is called Bhakti). Bhakti and Self-Enquiry are one and the same. The Self of the Advaitins is the God of the Bhaktas. (Talks; 274) (from Narada Bhakti Sutras, 15-19; a work in progress)
