Guest guest
---Very good!. Question,: so what's your attitude toward physical suffering, for example, would you be indifferent to (a) having good health or (b) having excruciating pain in bone cancer. In other words, what does Self-Realization have to do with physical suffering, if anything? Which? 1. you are totally free from it and therefore would be indifferent between (say) having some killer bees attack your face, or not having that occur 2. you are somewhat free from physical pains or 3. experience physical pains like everybody else and take reasonable measures to avoid pain. Thanks for your help. Matrix Monitor. PS: By "you" I'm of course talking about Consciousness as "the" body; i.e. the entity called "Harsha", who payes rent, pisses when your bladder is full, burps on occasion, etc. (I've heard enough of the phoney argument that: a. since "you" is the Self, and you've realized the Self, there's no suffering. Nonsense!. This is false anyway. The you is the Self "as" a body. (I'm mentioning this in anticipation of your attempting to evade answering the question). Guest guest
Dear Purushaz , my observation is that you are broadly right .Ramana , Ramakrishna , and Nisagadatta all suffered in their terminal cancers , excruciating pain , but apparantly they were not affected as much as ajnanis brcause they were less attached to their mind-body organisms .So Jnana is an ammelioration not the end of suffering as Jesus demonstrated rather forcibly .Regards Alan --- purushaz <purushaz wrote: <HR> <html><body> <tt> ---Very good!.
