Dear Net wrote snipped:

"It makes me a little sad to see you in spiritual distress.

Balance, balance and more balance however you might attain it is my

only advice Dearest Alton......"

Alton replies: With the exception of momentary loss of equanimity

when I received that hostile email from Miles, who previously was

able to accept my errant sense of humor, I have been incredibley

joyous after many years of suicidal tendencies.

Right after I received that email from Miles I went and did 2 1/2

hours of meditation. It was like that event never occurred. That is

testimony to the efficacy of the teaching and Self Inquiry.

As far as being balanced, I never have and never will until there is

no more "I" thoughts. I do believe in what Lakshmana is saying about,

to get that final push over the edge, one must have a living Guru. My

friends dont and they are still my friends. If someones finds it

necessary to defend their beliefs about not needing a living Guru for

the final episode, so be it. However I quote Shakespeare, "me thinks

the lady doth protest too much".

Love,

Alton

I am not giving you advice Alton. I said find the balance. That is

not advice. If giving up seeking and meditating for a while will help

you or anyone in that endeavor then do so, that was an example of

what I have tried in the past. It did work for me. Jesus said "I and

the Father are one." Show me where he had a living master for the

final release.

If there is a Master for me, living or dead, I am most assured that

He is quite capable of making himself (or herself) known. Charan made

himself known to me in quite a dramatic fashion. I saw his Radiant

Form inside, before I had ever heard of him or saw a picture or heard

of Sant Mat. So I heeded his call. Now if that was not really the

Radiant Form of Charan Singh it matters not. I got what I was

supposed to get from him. I went to see him in India and 5 months

later he died.

So I say again If there is another Master for me, living or dead, I

am most assured that He is more than capable of making himself know.

Don't you think so? Is this beyond the power of THE Master? I think

not. So, why kick against the thorns? I am in no hurry.....And that

is the nature of my protest.........

Did you read of my experience on the forum with Ramana?
