To My dear Friend Jan Bhatia,

Here is the "shashakasan".Rest I will try to post in the future.

Shashankasan(hare pose)

benefits:-

the spine when brought parallel to the earth gets complete rest.

liver spleen & stomach when pressed are activated & their functional capacity improved.

the capacity to breathe upto the abdomen increases. It is highly useful for asthmatic patients.

this asan is most effective in alleviating all types of anger & emotional instability.

Technique:-

sit down in vajrasan.keep the waist & neck erect.inhale slowly but deeply &

while inhaling, raise together the arms together over the head as high as

possible.stretched & close to the ears.exhaling slowly,stretching the

hands, bend forward without raising the hips.now relax the arms till the elbows

rest on the floor.the forehead may also touch the ground.breathe

normally.maintain this posture for a while. while inhaling stretch the arms &

return slowly to the vajrasan position.

point of concentration:- agya chakra

the most important thing to be kept in mind in this asan is that while bending

forward do not allow the hips to come off their position between the heels.

one can do this asan from 4 to 6 times in the morning facing north or east

towards the sun on a mat with empty stomach with minimum clothes on the body.

Thanks.

Rohit.
