Guest guest Posted July 1, 2001 Report Share Posted July 1, 2001 hi everyone who du u consider as supreme? there are thousands of Gods in Hindu religion. is Visnu greatest or Krishna or Lord Shiva? do I need to convert to hinduism from christainity to practice sadana will i have to stop going to church or what? I m really excited, becasue until recently thought that tantra was just an avenue for sex-addicts to satisfy ther urge. your site has a different perspective. can anyone explain peace. U may follow all the basic tenets of your religion. Sadhana is a process to awaken the human subconscious, to make a link with the Divine powers. It is the method to invoke the divine for help and to force the divine to help one. For example, religion is immaterial when one performs physical exercises or practices mental meditation. However, u will need to follow some Sadhana rules very strictly like eating pure vegetarian food, getting up early, maintaining celibacy etc. etc. The Mantras are the basic principal and force behind Sadhanas. Sound has a very high Potential energy, and Sadhanas utilise this energy produced by vibrations. Chanting of a particular Mantra results in production of a unique vibration-set which is unique to a deity. The actual meaning of the Mantra has not got much significance. What is significant is the actual set of the words and the vibrations produced by them. For example, in any language, the word Ma or mom , always refers to the mother, always creates an atmosphere of calling mother. The vibrations of this word always condition the mind to think of mother. For performing Sadhana, u will need to chant the actual mantra, as it is given. u might not gain much by chanting an english or italian translation of that combination of words.
