Guest guest Report post Posted June 1, 2001 Jai Gurudev! Dear anurag Goel, A pregnant woman should not come out of her house during the period of eclipse. She should not stitch anything with needle and thread, should not break any material such as small pieces of stick, biting nail etc. as they say the same kind of infirmity will happen to the new born child. Moreover, the pregnant woman should not eat atleast before 1 hour of the eclipse and after taking a bath after the eclipse is over she can eat. The purpose of observing all these guidelines is that the child should have a safe birth.
