Guest guest
post number 30745 Chitta , i am glad you have issued this clarification. The moderators have always respected your views and perspectives on various subjects. if i remember , you were even invited to be part of the Moderators team which you politely declined for personal reasons. i know for a fact that you are considered a valuable member by one and all for your oustanding scholarship , keen intellect and ininitable writing style and prowess. This list was formed in 1998 and it is almost 8 years since its inception. The LIST has stood the test of time. It is also the most popular group in Hinduism. It has members from all six continents . The Chief moderator has put together a great team of moderators to assist him in this day to day task of running this group smoothly. These nine individuals are like the nine gems of Vikramaditya's court. We have in Ananda wood , a great poet, philosopher and a an advocate of Advaita philosophy. Professor V. Krishnamurthy , as you all know , has delighted us all with his beautiful rendering of Saundaryalahari and introducing us all to the Bhakti and shakta aspects of Shankara's Advaita philosophy. Madathil Nairji is like the young Vivekananda- he has a lot of 'fiery spirit' and Nairji's posts are always full of great insights and commonsense. Sunder-ji, our Good Samaritan - who has a 'Psychtheraphy' background , is a great Listener and and you all know how he is always able and willing to help by proving rich reference materials. Sada-ji, what can one say about him? Sada- Vasantham - forever Spring like - with his great energy and enthusiasm for the perennial philosophy of Gita - a Gitacharya of this group! smile . Greg Goode - a westerner with a love for Eastern thought - He keeps a low profile but is 'awareness' is no less than all of us put together. Then Dennis Waite - invisible but has a beautiful website www.advaita.org.uk - pl check it out - it is a storehouse of valuable information from Rumi to Ramana ! He is busy writing books and may be playing Guitar( smile) that may explain his absence from the list! Frank Maileo - 'ego dust' my all weather friend and well-wisher - he is unconventional but definitely Is 'adwaitic' as one can get - totally 'guileless' ! Sri Ramji , our founder moderator has put together this great team for the benefit of us all . He deserves a big hand for being the 'guiding' hand behind the advaita list. i liked what Chitta had to say in his post - yes! it will be a good idea to arrive at a 'SAMANVAYA BETWEEN KASHMIR SHAIVISM AND ADVAITA'- we can call it 'saivadvaita' -smile! Bhikku yogiji- here is an idea! why don't you attempt the samanvaya between Buddhism and Advaita - BEING A BUDDHIST, YOU ARE AWARE OF THE 'MIDDLE WAY' RIGHT ? this way you can clear up all notions of 'hatred' about buddhism in this advaitin group. Buddha is one of the nine incarnations of SRI VISHNU - how can we 'hate' buddhism- that is preposterous. Yes, participation in groups can be addictive more so in a group where there is so much drama , melodrama and excitement all the time! This is also God's divine leela! love and only love
