Guest guest
Dear Chitta ! Greetings ! Thank you for posting that Wonderful poem by Gurudev Tagore. As we all know , Tagore was a 'nature' poet who worshipped 'NATURE' ( ( Prakriti) as Mother Goddess! Somewhat of a 'Pagan' so to speak . you ask in a two part question and rightly so : What is the position of the Feminine in Advaita? Is she the beguiler and illusion to be discarded? CAN WE AFFORD TO DO SO? let me respond with these two WONDERFUL lines from Tagore's 'Stray Birds ' " Where is this fountain that throws out these flowers in such a ceaseless outbreak of ecstasy? " Enjoy the 'sandhya' bhasha of Tantra - 'the twilight language' Yes! Can we afford to ignore the 'nurturung and Creative energy' of the Creator? As sufi poet Rumi says "Woman is a ray of God; you could say that she is Creator, not created." with blessings

I am a pagan too, for like Wordsworth: I'd rather be A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn; Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea; Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn. > let me respond with these two WONDERFUL lines from Tagore's > 'Stray Birds' " Where is this fountain that throws out these > flowers in such a ceaseless outbreak of ecstasy?" > Enjoy the 'sandhya' bhasha of Tantra - 'the twilight language' The twilight! The twilight of the ego! When: The sun Closing his benediction, Sinks, and the darkening air Thrills with the sense of the triumphing night, - ....... (William Ernest Henley) O, the longing to lose oneself in Raptures of the Dark Night! The Divine Feminine in Advaita is Brahman as the Goddess of the three cities!
