1. Indeed, duality is the basis for all plurality and hence we talk always of

Father and Mother, Prakriti and Purusha, etc in dual terms when discussing

Creation. There is no mystery here.

 

The real mystery is how duality arises out of Unity. This is Maya which we are

told must forever remain a mystery.

 

(By the way, I understand that some other languages of the Indo-European family,

such as serbo-croatian languages, also have singular, dual and plural terms.

But that does not detract in any way from the beauty of Sanskrit you allude to.)

 

2. Moving on to the subject of the paper, Dr. Ram Chandran has suggested that I

should lead a discussion on the contents of this paper. I would be glad to do

this, explaining the concepts and results over some fifteen or so postings. I

hope to get this going next week.
