Dear brothers and sisters,

a friend of mine asked me about a bija-mantra, she heard about. It

spells "saum" or "saom". I found out, that it is used for example in

the saraswati mantra "Om Aim Kleeng Saum Sarasvatiya Namaha",

refering to Devi (Sarasvati, Kali, Durga, Tripura Bala, Lakshmi).

Could one of you please translate this mantra "Saum" and tell

something about it´s meaning?

Thank´s a lot from your unknowing brother Michael :-)

Hi, I was also given this 'saum' and am still searching to find its meaning, it was given in refrence to Skanda, the sound seems out of place and am just double checking. He is the second son of Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati. Hope this post works :)

Any help in further definitions would be greatly appreciated

Looked at the original page post date its from 2003. Doesn't matter this is what I found (Aaim, Klim and Saum form the part of the Bhija manthra (seed invocation) that denotes Lord Skanda) its at -you know how it begins.........celextel.org/stotrassubrahmanya/skandasashtikavacham.html

just over 1/2 way down the page.

Hope this helps someone else!

Till next time

God bless
