I recently learnt the following information and would like to share

with you all, so you can passon to others who may benefit from this

unique offering.

 

Kanchi Matha organises and supports unique schools under the name

Sri Sankara Smartha Samskrutha Paathasala one at Oorapakkam, near

Chennai; and the other at Ullal, Bangalore. Here students are

admitted at the age of 8 on a residential basis where a combined

curriculum of Vedic education and modern education is provided. The

Sankara pathasala gives training in Vedas, Vedic karmas, Samskrutham,

Indian culture, and Music in the morning and evening. The students

attend regular associated CBSE schools between 9 AM and 5 PM. It is

expected that by the time the student completes 12 th grade, he would

have learnt one Veda Sakha, and several other Vedic rituals. The fees

are highly subsidised; for eg. at Ullal, Bangalore one has to pay Rs.

6,000 per year. The associated CBSE school for the Sankara pathasala

is Sankara Vidyalaya at Kilambakkam, Chennai and the CBSE school

associated with the Ullal, Bangalore Sankara Paathasala is

Vidyaniketan, Ullal.

 

There is an entrance test for admission to the Ullal school on Dec

2002, Dt. 28 and 29 at Kanchi Matha. I guess, a similar test will be

there for admission into Oorapakkam/Kilambakkam, Chennai school as

well.

 

You may contact Kanchi Matha for admission procedures. I have the

details for Bangalore school. But, as I can not attach a document to

this post, intereted people may write to me, as well.

I see that this was a message in 2002. I stay close to Ullal Bangalore. Want to know if this "Sri Sankara Smartha Samskrutha Paathasala" still continues to be a part of vidyaniketan school, Ullal, Bangalore.

I will call up the institution and ask them. But just wanted to know if some parent has already enrolled their kid into this school and want to know honest feedback if any. Its rare to have such a combination in schools and me being a smartha and attarcted towards advaitha vedanta, would treat myself and my kid lucky if such a thing is still available.

Any response would be appriciated.
