Goddess Sarasvati explains Leela:

 

As space has no real dimension, so Time has none.

As all this appearance of an extended universe is mere Prati-bha,

'Appearing' , consciousness, imagination;

so also the appearance of Time,

from a kShaNa to a kalpa, is mere pratibha.

And, even as in dreams,so in the case of dying,

the jIva after passing through the swoon of death,

forgets it's preceding condition, and awakes into

a different set of appearances, with different times and spaces.

A single night became twelve years to King Hariscandra.

Hopes deferred makes years of single days.

 

lIla questions Saraswati:

 

What memory was the cause of the creation wherein

the brAhmaNa and his wife had their home?

 

sarasvati answers lIla:

 

Memory of Brahma was that cause.

The Final cause is the idea in the mahA-cit,

the supreme consciousness (or supra-un-consciousness)

where in cause and effect are one.
