Sri Mathrey Namah,

Dear sri Satish,

Archana Vidhana is described at length in Tripura Rahasya - Charya Khanda and

Parasurama Kalpa Sutras. Also elucidated by disciples of Sankara and Sankara

himself in Prapanca sara Tantra, there has not been any particular mention of

kerala or kashmir sampradayas especially when it comes to the usage of type of

Patra. No. of Patras in the Puja varies from 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 16 and some

instances haves also mentioned usage of 18 Patras in the Nava Avarana Puja of

Lalitha (Sakti Sangama Tantra - Lalitha Khanda). various types of Patras are

defined for eg., Visesharghya Patra, Sudha Patra, Arghya Patra, Bhoga Patra,

Vira Patra, Guru Patra, Atma Patra, Nivedya Patra etc., and it is these patras

that are assigned various matereal. gold/silver/copper/bronze are best in

descending order. However, usage of coconut, spatika, earthern, other alloys,

wood, have also been prescribed for various Patras to be used.

Always at the Lotus feet of Guru,

Samvidaananda Saktha,

Saravana Kumar

According to another commentary on LS tarpaNa here is to be

understood in the sense of pUja. Hence rahasya pUja. One who

receives secret pUja.

Bhaskara raya(who is a kaula) does not mention any libation. As shri

Ganapathyji pointed out, this name has to do with internal worship.

Kali Puja Paddhati brought out by Rashtriya Sanskrit Samsthan gives

elaborate details about usage of patra-s in these three sampradayas.

It quotes the Kali Khanda of Shakti Sangama tantra

"keralAdi kramabhedena pAtrAnAM nirmANa dravya viShaye.api visheSho

vartate", which roughly means that based on those three sampradayas

some differences in material used for the patras exist.

Above quote is followed by elaborate details as to what patra(it

mentions all the patras that you listed below) is made of what in

each

of the three sampradayas.

Dear Saravan Kumar Ji,

I shall eternally be grateful to you if you could give me a copy (or suggest where can I access it) of Tripura Rahasya - Charya Khanda. I shall always be thankful to you. Even suggestion about where can I get it will be highly appreciated.

Thank-you.
