Might have posted this before, but here it is again. This time with

a somewhat loose inaccurate sort of translation.

 

Too lazy and incompetent to provide word to word.

 

AdyA kAlI stavaH

 

Prayer to AdyA kAlI - Primordial Kali.

 

tvaM parA prakR^itiH sAkShAd.h brahmanaH

paramAtmanaH,tvatto jAtaM jagatsarvaM tvaM jagajjanani

shive

 

Oh shivA! You are parA prakR^iti, verily brahman, paramAtma itself.

This entire world has its source as you jagajjananI.

 

mahadAdyaNu paryantaM yadetatt.h sa carAcaraM,

tvayaivotpAditaM bhadre tvadadhInamidaM jagat.h

 

Everything in this world from the greatest to the atomic, that which

moves and which does not has its origin in you bhadrA. This world is

verily in our control.

 

tvamAdyA sarva vidyAnAmasmAkamapi janma bhUH, tvaM

jAnAsi jagat.h sarvaM na tvAM jAnAti kashcana

 

You are the primordial one among all the vidyA-s, and even the cause

of my own birth. Thou are the one who knows this entire universe but

there is truly none who ever knows thee.

 

tvaM kAlI tariNI durgA ShoDashI bhuvaneshvarI,

dhUmAvatI tvaM bagalA bhairavI chinnamastakA

 

It is only you who manifests as kAlI, tArA, durgA, ShoDashI(lalitA

mahA tripura sundarI / rAja rAjeshvarI), bhuvanA, dhUmA, bagalA,

bhairavI, and chinnA.

 

tvaM annapUrNA vAgdevI tvaM devi! kamalAlayA, sarva

shakti svarUpA tvaM sarva deva mayI tanuH

 

Devi, it is you who is annapUrNA, vAgdevI, kamalAlayA(mahA lakShmI,

siddha lakShmI, rAjya lakShmI), all other various shakti-s, and of

the form of all deva-s.

 

tvameva sUkShmA sthUlA tvaM vyaktAvyakta-svarUpiNi,

nirAkAramapi sAkArA kastvAM veditumarhati

 

It is only you who is subtle, gross, manifest, the unmanifest, with

form and even without form. Who is there that is eligible to know

you?

 

upAsakAnAM kAryArthaM shreyase jagatAmapi, dAnavAnAM

vinAshAya dhatse nAnAvidhAstanUH

 

For the purpose to aiding upAsakA-s, to do good to the world, and to

deliver fatal justice upon the dAnavA-s, it is you who assumes

various forms.

 

caturbhujA tvaM dvibhujA shaDbhujAShtabhujA tathA,

tvameva vishva rakShArthaM nAnA shastrAshtra dAriNi

 

It is only you that manifests as four, two, six, and eight armed,

armed with various weapons for the protection of this world.

 

tvaM sarva rUpiNI devI sarveShAM jananI parA,

tuShTAnAM tvayo deveshi! sarveShAM toShanaM bhavet.h

 

Oh devI, parA! You are the mother of everyone and everything that is

formed, is You alone. It is with your satisfaction, oh queen of the

devata-s, where lies the happiness of all.
