Why should there be a hidden meaning or order? even if one exists why should it concern me. The mischievous mind in us wanders away from Amba by seeking order or hidden meanigs instead of getting absorbed in the enormity of Amba present in various aspects around us, amidst us, within us and beyond us. She is there as everything. Philosophically speaking she is as much in the micrcosm as in the macro. The problem with the mind is this. Leaving what is being done instead of enjoying that, it ponders over scholarly matters. The scholarly matters are for minds which have enormous intelligence and have to be tamed by being given complex riddles. Till the intelligent mind subdues Amba is not available to it. It continues to seek Her when the intelligence surrenders to Her by actually saying "You are beyond me". When Amba is both Sulabha and Sarvateeta, why should I worry about Her Sarvateeta aspect rather than gripping Her as Sulabha? All this trick is done by Her to deviate and waste our time till we become Adhikaris. Let us be careful about these incliantions in us, as indulging in such scholalry acts will not take us anywhere. If one nama can move us into tears then we have actaully obtained the phala of sahasranama japa. This is because when the mind becomes supple it is subdued and devoid of arrogance, lust, greed, et all. Let us pray to Her to bless with a mind which will ever ever be at Her Lotus feet and not seek anything else. Here is a question. In Devi Stuti - 5th Chapter of DEvI MAhAtmyA - in the several verses (mantrAs) beginning with yA dEvI sarvabhUtESu viSNumAyEti... etc. - is there any secret order or significance in the sequence She is equated to viSHumAya, chEtanA, buddhi, nidrA etc. or is the progression simply random? Has anybody interpreted the order of these equations? I strongly believe there is some secret significance which ultimately leads to a Devi mantrA in the same manner as the first letters of the triSati are said to hold a key to the SodashAkshari. Can anyone enlighten? Or, is it taboo to talk about it at our current level of sAdhanA? Kindly advise. PraNAms to all. Madathil Nair Pranams to All. As per explanations heard from my Masters, Pujya Bhaskararaya has stated that the " twety one verses" beginning with " Ya Devi Sarvabhteshu " together with the repition of Namastasyai Namo Namaha -- " Three times " makes the verse of 24 letters and concludes that these verses are Mantras in GAYATHRI -- metre of the 21 aspects. ( the significance of number 21 is derived from the triple aspect of Ambaaji in each of the seven dimensions of consciousness -- Anna - Prana - Manas - Vijnana - Anand -- cit -- Sat which is equated to the 7 Vyahritis of the Vedas and the 7 lokas of the Purana.) Un quote : Repeating Three times the word Namastasyai has deep spiritual significance and not a case of alliteration or to convince oneself a point. The three aspects is not a mere salutation but salutation, surrender and the receptivity to Ambaom consciousness in the Self with a Total Faith. Guest guest
Namaste Shri Ganapathyji. Thanks for posting Shri Venkataraman Ranganathan's advice and words of wisdom in the matter. Incidentally, all the verses mentioned by me refers to Her sulabhA aspect. I am just trying to 'grip' them with a better understanding. If Shri Venkataramaman Ranganathan can help me in this endeavour, instead of brushing aside the whole thing as necessary, I shall be most grateful. Thanks for sharing your understanding in a previous message. PraNAms.
