Thanks. Pranams. The eternal wisdom of the rishies and sages have been handed over from time immemorial through the system or media of "Guru -- Shisya Parampara " As against Chitra Pata or Photos, Diagrams called Chakras or Yantras with occult spiritual geometry assumes a very great significance and importance in worship because of the very prescence of the deity becomes vivid and is palably felt in the atmosphere by the worshippers. These yantras are tended in a devotional environment which develops a pervasive influence that envelops its precincts when done with appropriate mantras as per the sastras. To quote Maha Sawmy on this : " The scriptures tell you how to meditate and on what all Forms and with what results. For Upasana, you have to follow the Sastras or Scriptures. The different upasanas are all aids in the path to the ultimate goal, namely, understanding Reality. Scriptures prescribe Upaasana n order to train the mind to concentrate. Upasana is the affair of the individual; there is nothing collective about it." As per the sastras one has to surrender to the Guru and the place of the guru is an indispensable factor. The guru in himself is instinct to a considerable measure the living presence of the deity invoked. In this tradition " the Guru, the deity and the Mantra " are all equally important as it bears of a single whole. Pl do not attempt to read the MANTRAS from a book which is a waste of time and do not see a guru as a mere Human being focussing on his weakness. It is the guru who implants the bijaksharas, the manta along with the activating personal force of his tapas that is his own whatever little it is, then the dynamics of the mantra is set in motion. Sri Chakra is known as Chakra Rajam ( king of all Chakras ) It is better to pray to a photo if one doesn't to take trouble of approaching a guru.
