In a split form puMsaH kSaNaardham-api saMsaraNaakSamasya saaMkhyaadayaH saraNayaH na vishanti karNam.h . saMkhyaaya gaa~NgasikataaH sakalaashca suukSmaaH bhu~NkSva iti vaagiva mahaakSudhayaa arditasya ..21.. For a person (puMsaH) who does not want to toil in this saMsara (saMsaraNaakSamasya) even for a second (kSaNaardham-api), religions (saraNayaH) like saaMkhya (saaMkhyaadayaH) point a way which is absurd. Their words are (vaagiva) are like telling a very hungry person (mahaakSudhayaa arditasya) to count (saMkhyaaya) all the fine sand particles on the shores of ganga (gaa~NgasikataaH sakalaashca suukSmaaH) and then eat (bhu~NkSva iti). And such an absurd counsel will never enter a ear (karNam na vishanti), that is, it will not be heeded to. Now the author turns his attention to bhakti marga. Thus far he has expressed his frustration with jnAna and karma and their underlying difficulty. Swami Vishwarupananda and Ravi
