I've practiced astanga yoga off-and-on for the

last 12 years. Right now I'm coming up on 1 full year

of steady, 6 day a week, 2 hour a day

practice.

Here I some things I've found to be true, for

myself:

#1 -- REGULAR PRACTICE IS THE

FOUNDATION

Daily practice (6 days a week) leads to

progress.

#2 -- DIET IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE PRACTICE

My

diet has a tremendous effect on my practice.

Overeating, even for 1 day, seems to cause a reaction

throughout my entire body that dramatically stiffens all my

body tissue. By the same token, a very moderate

vegetarian diet allows my joints, muscles and connective

tissue to open up.

#3 -- PRACTICE WITH OTHERS IS

ESSENTIAL TO PRACTICE ITSELF

Simply put: If I didn't

practice astanga yoga with others, I probably would not be

practing astanga yoga at all.

Other people may do

very well with practicing on their own. I've found

that I can't, at least not with the intensity that I

practice with other yogis.

answer:
I am just beggining to practice the second series.

What days practice firs and what days practice second

series?
What kind of diet is best?
I have runned during a

lot of years and I am very stiff, mainly the legs. Do

you think if it is possible to practice ashtanga at

good level and run?
I am practicing alone because

there are no ashtanga yoga centers nor teaches in my

town. Some advices for motivation?
Namaste.
