Guest guest Report post Posted August 17, 1999 About a couple months ago my practice was going pretty well. Then one day I was attempting kukutasana and I felt something pop in my left hip/knee.

As a result, my hip has stiffened up on the left side. The worst effects wore off about about a week or so.

My practice has continued unabatted, but "my practice" as far as hip flexiblity goes has been set back considerably. In other words, I'm about where I was when I started consistent practice at the beginning of the year.

Has anyone out there experienced an injury like this? What to do? Sit in marichasana B for an hour a day?
Guest guest Report post Posted August 18, 1999 Trayam,

I had a very similar experience...I was attempting Buddhasana and I heard a similar pop from my knee. Was quite painful at first, but it subsided a short time afterwards...much the same as in your case.

My doctor prescribed me some gymnastics, and now, one year later, everything is back to where it was (although I now stop at Eka Pada Sirasana..which is quite enough thank you...)

To make a long story short, I got my flexiblity back by sticking to a program and not pushing too hard..and letting nature take its course. It is probably a good idea to see a doctor though.

good luck

Mark
