Guess no one. There is no such a thing basically as "main".

Moreover, Nigamas can mean either division of Shakta-tantras (when Devi is Guru)

or Vedas

(as opposed to Agamas, Tantras).

In the first sense, Rudra-yamala (text we have now) and Kulachudamani are

Nigamas.

the North South Indian have different as well.

You can get Rudra-yamala (sanskrit in translit) from Muktabodha Online library.

It is free,

U just have to register there.

any 3 of these formats can be converted to ITRANS [first to balaram

format and then to itrans]. and then use Itranslator2003 for

devanagari display

It will take U some 10 minutes to change it into ITRANS. Any text editing

application

starting from TextEdit, Pages or Word and ending with InCopy/InDesign has

facility "Find

and Replace". Just U will have to change 51 letters from one encoding to

another, it's

simple.

Not really, but i guess , since tex is a cross platform application

and, if i am not mistaken, osx uses true type fonts , the Velthius

font package must be compatible, or at least the probability is high

that there is a osx version of velthius or any other transliteration

Devanagari font for tex is floating around somewhere in the net.

OSX supports all fonts apart from Windows Type 1 — that is Mac TrueType, DFONT,

OpenType, Mac Type 1 and Windows TrueType.

I have been trying to beat my head with Tex and itrans on linux. Spent a lot

of time and i cant get it to work... If you are successful Arjuna ji then

please let me also know about it..

 

BTW one more thing.. I have seen that using itrans in batch mode is much

faster then the normal gui mode. I was able to translate complete

JanarvaTantra much quicker in batch mode then it gui mode.

something like

FontLab or TransType? Was it successful?

 

And what is the best way to make devanagari appear in browser using unicode? We

but with partial success. Some browsers like Firefox and Opera (Mac-version) has

It should work fine both firefox and IE. It depends more on the OS. For

example firefox on linux cant render correctly words that are supposed to be

half, "sh" in shyam. But when used to view on windows, firefox renders it

correctly.

I can see it correctly, both on firefox and ie on windows.
