[ 9763 ] Can we do that with a Murthy too? Like my Saraswati Murthy.

 

[ 6021 ] But try not to do it on brittle Murthys like clay , glass

and all, material that can brek, because if the Idol breaks it would

be bad and the break will manifest on your body. Because the idol is

you.

 

[ 9763 ] One evening while I'm having dinner my Saraswati Murthy

caught fire.

 

[ 6021 ] Did the Murty get blackened?

 

[ 9763 ] Only at the back her hair but it can be removed, I thought

of getting it repainted.

 

[ 6021 ] Yes exactly and did you have back ache thereafter or

something?

 

[ 9763 ] Yes back ache. Terrible bad backache.

 

[ 6021 ] See thats what I meant.

 

[ 9763 ] My husband have the "Dancing Shiva" once as the

main deity. Once we got married an elderly man advise him to change it to

Shiva the family man. He said, The Dancing Shiva, is Shiva on the

Move. Your family will also be on the move all the time. Family Shiva

will stabilized the family. I have been trying to understand this for

sometime. So the main deity in the family does have an effect on the

family on the whole?

[ 9763 ] How about the Mahalakshmi which is made in Metal/Steel? How

do we do it?

 

[ 6021 ] You see its not easy because you have not been taught how

to do the Nyasas, actually it is easy.

 

[ 9762 ] You said about becoming Devi via Nyasas. To do Nyasas you

need a guru or a guidance?

 

[ 6021 ] Not a guru; but guidance. It is just placing various beejas

and mantras in various parts of the body, for each devata the mantras

are different

 

[ 9762 ] I have this opinion that another way of "becoming the

Devi " is being the Devi herself, like in the thousand names ,

the attributes of Lalitha for example.

 

[ 6021 ] that too requires Nyasas. You see that is not enough. I am

not discouraging but..............

 

[ 8094 ] I don't believe it. I think any effort is useful , because

you make yourself divine before communing with the Divine, but to

recite the LS is never "useless" -- unless you read it with derision

or negativity
