seems it is as good time as any to remind us all the old birdie tale.

i heard it first when i was about seven years old...

there was a bird who hurt it's wing. when autumn came, it couldn't

join the flock and fly with its mates to the southern, warm countries

and stayed behind.

at first it wasn't so bad - the wing healed, there was no competition

in feeding... but then the winter came, and finding food became more

and more difficult. and when the snows came, it was worse and worse,

until one day the bird just collapsed, and lay frozen and unconscious

on the ground.

then a cow happened to pass along. as luck has it, one of the 'cakes'

it produced landed just on the poor, unconscious birdie...

now, as we all know, the cow shit has the cow temperature; and is full

of indigested seeds. so it melted the snow around, and the birdie

awoke from it's slumber and found itself in paradise - warm, cozy,

and plenty of food! so it ate it's fill and then opened it's beak and

sung a beautiful song of gratitude to god, adding a little dance too.

a fox was passing by. it heard the beautiful bird song, and listened

to it for a while. then approached the pile of shit, helped the

birdie out and cleaned it carefully and delicately.

and then ate it.

:) there are three morals to this classic story.

the first one: not everybody who shits on your head is necessarily

your enemy and does you harm.

remember the other two, friends?
