I am not Hindu, but went to the Hindu temple in our town with some acquaintances. While we were there the priest came around to the visitors with a little plate with water. The people I were with took the water and did a motion around their face and rubbed their head. They also did this to my daughter who is less than a year old. I would like to understand more what this practice meant and if it had any significance. Was it a blessing? Thanks for taking your time to reply!

Dear Sir Our native village is peranambakkam which is located at polur taluk and Thiruvanna Malai District. For my cousin one astrologer told that you will found and construct one Shiva temple at your native place a year back. My cousin was not taking care of that words that time, after some time he has realized by so many miracles happened in his house. In the month of November he went to native village and noticed that one area is pertaining to temple. We came to know from the local VAO and confirming that the particular area is temple area only. He has started of excavating that area with prior permission and found one Shiva lingam ( Runa Hareshwarar... as per prasannam detail) in the month of Nov'10 (3 feet down from the ground). Later on we have found one shanmugar also (but binnam). Rest of the excavation work may expect to start shortly. We are praying for rest of deities such as mangalambika ambal (as per prassannam name), vinayagar, etc. We came to know that lord shiva is very ancient (11th Century) by shivacharia. We are very eager to construct the temple. We will provide prasannam detail given by Mr.Sathyanarayana (Sri Maha Periyaval prassannam), runahareshwarar photo, and temple history by mail if any body is interested. We are looking for donors who will help us to construct the temple as soon as excavation processing is over. With kind regards N Srihari
