  1. Hehe... I took Latin! It is very useful. Did you know that English is 60% Latin, particularly vocabulary? But it is still considered a Germanic language primarily because of sentence structure and grammar. And it is used so much in science, medicine and law... Latin, though called a "dead language" is very much alive and well /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

  2. Namaste!

Sanskrit: A complete course for beginners by Michael Coulson is one of the books I am using as well. I have the revised edition [revised by Gombrich and Benson].

I have spotted errors in the revised parts! You can tell which parts are revised by the font, so every time I bump into one of these sections, I get a little skeptical. *sigh* So I go to several other sources and compare notes.

Examples: page 28 under Class I where they attempt to spell "shuc" they end up spelling "shrucri"... page 29 where they attempt "likh" they forget the viraama...

It is really a shame because it seems like Coulson did a great job on his own. I really wish I could find someone to teach me in person, one on one. /ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif

Anyway, I am glad I found this forum. I have learned much from you guys already!
