pure soul

First of all i must thank the founder of the site and all the ppl who are associated with it. i m glad to find ''indiadivine '' well, I have been using holy threads, tied around my wrist (right hand) i wear them with strong faith ,but i really dont know what is the proper way of using it . here are some questions .. 1. since two years i have been using two threads one is lord shiva's and the other one is a bhagvati devi's , how long can one use the thread , and can i remove them to wash and again wear them ? 2. if i remove the thread and dont wear it for a month ..how can i wear them again ..do i need to purify them or tie it just like that ! 3.can i knot two threads of different deities' and is it ok to wear them around the neck ?
