Namaste to one and all, I do agree in the association of Mars with Iggutappa/Subramani in Tantra as in remember (albeit vaguely ) having read about this elsewhere.

Dear Bhaskar ji, Chandrashekar ji, Bharat ji and Ramapriya ji, i would like to add that Iggutappa is Lord Subramani (Karthik/Muruga ) incarnate. The eagle is an enemy of serpents and not the peacock. Kukke Subramanya near Mangalore is an important temple for Naga Dosha. Igguthappa is Lord of serpents as well as of rains, harvest, rice and prosperity.
