  1. I agree with you Prabhu. Times are changing very quickly. Things in our lives will be disrupted and changed forever. All of this is within Krishna's plan to usher in a golden age of harinama.

  2. I have a strong feeling that major events will happen very soon. Babylon the great is falling and people will be forced to deal with spirituality. A mass elevation of consciousness will soon occur, as these asuras will no longer have power over things. Their reign is coming to an end. Many people will have to die, but this is all Krishna's great plan. The earth has been disrespected for so long and it is due to be cleansed. We are supposed to be taking care of the earth, but instead we are exploiting it and hurting it and each other. Krishna senses the deep suffering within all of the jivas hearts on planet earth and is planning on relieving this suffering soon. Big changes are going to happen. Many more tragic events like 9/11 will happen, it's just a matter of when. Like Queen Kunti, such tragic events will prompt people to turn back to God. 9/11 did this for me, that is how I found Krishna Consciousness. I pray that the suffering of every jiva is relieved and a new age of chanting the holy names of Lord Sri Krishna will be ushered in. That is the only peace and sanity that we will ever have in this material world. We do not belong here. We belong back with Krishna in his eternal abode.

    In love,

  3. TRANSLATION

After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.

    PURPORT

The living entity, while executing devotional service or transcendental rituals after many, many births, may actually become situated in transcendental pure knowledge that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate goal of spiritual realization. In the beginning of spiritual realization, while one is trying to give up one's attachment to materialism, there is some leaning towards impersonalism, but when one is further advanced he can understand that there are activities in the spiritual life and that these activities constitute devotional service. Realizing this, he becomes attached to the Supreme Personality of Godhead and surrenders to Him. At such a time one can understand that Lord Sri Krishna’s mercy is everything, that He is the cause of all causes and that this material manifestation is not independent from Him. He realizes the material world to be a perverted reflection of spiritual variegatedness and realizes that in everything there is a relationship with the Supreme Lord Krishna. Thus he thinks of everything in relation to Vasudeva, or Sri Krishna. Such a universal vision of Vasudeva precipitates one's full surrender to the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna as the highest goal. Such surrendered great souls are very rare.

This verse is very nicely explained in the Third Chapter (verses 14 and 15) of the Svetasvatara Upanisad:

    sahasra-sirsa purusah

    sahasraksah sahasra-pat

    sa bhumim visvato vrtva-

    tyatisthad dasangulam

    purusa evedam sarvam

    yad bhutam yac ca bhavyam

    utamrtatvasyesano

    yad annenatirohati

In the Chandogya Upanisad (5.1.15) it is said, na vai vaco na caksumsi na srotrani na manamsity acaksate prana iti evacaksate prano hy evaitani sarvani bhavanti: "In the body of a living being neither the power to speak, nor the power to see, nor the power to hear, nor the power to think is the prime factor; it is life which is the center of all activities." Similarly Lord Vasudeva, or the Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, is the prime entity in everything. In this body there are powers of speaking, of seeing, of hearing, of mental activities, etc. But these are not important if not related to the Supreme Lord. And because Vasudeva is all-pervading and everything is Vasudeva, the devotee surrenders in full knowledge (cf. Bhagavad-gita 7.17 and 11.40).

  4. TRANSLATION

But those who fully worship the unmanifested, that which lies beyond the perception of the senses, the all-pervading, inconceivable, unchanging, fixed and immovable — the impersonal conception of the Absolute Truth — by controlling the various senses and being equally disposed to everyone, such persons, engaged in the welfare of all, at last achieve Me.

    PURPORT

Those who do not directly worship the Supreme Godhead, Krishna, but who attempt to achieve the same goal by an indirect process, also ultimately achieve the same goal, Sri Krishna. "After many births the man of wisdom seeks refuge in Me, knowing that Vasudeva is all." When a person comes to full knowledge after many births, he surrenders unto Lord Krishna. If one approaches the Godhead by the method mentioned in this verse, he has to control the senses, render service to everyone and engage in the welfare of all beings. It is inferred that one has to approach Lord Krishna, otherwise there is no perfect realization. Often there is much penance involved before one fully surrenders unto Him.

In order to perceive the Supersoul within the individual soul, one has to cease the sensual activities of seeing, hearing, tasting, working, etc. Then one comes to understand that the Supreme Soul is present everywhere. Realizing this, one envies no living entity — he sees no difference between man and animal because he sees soul only, not the outer covering. But for the common man, this method of impersonal realization is very difficult.

  5. Dear Guest,

I understand your concerns. From what I understand, the Bhagavad Gita is God's instruction for us to get to know Him. If you follow what it says, then you will receive your proof. Like gHari said and what George Harrison said, which pretty much got me to start chanting the Maha Mantra, is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". You have to chant in order to purify your heart so that you can perceive the proof you desire. For me, the proof is in the fact that I can't stop chanting Hare Krishna. If you try to chant some other word, over and over, you will get bored. However, since the Maha Mantra is completely spiritual and transcendental, you never get tired of chanting it. In fact, the more you do it, the more you want to chant. Therefore, my suggestion is to just chant, and you will recieve proof. Just like Arjuna, the choice is up to you.

    Haribol!

  6. Can we start a discussion about surrendering unto Krishna? Please post anything related to surrendering here. I have been meditating on verse 18.66 from the Bhagavad Gita which says:

"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear."

I would like to read more about surrendering unto Krishna.

    Haribol!

  7. Excerpt from Srila Prabhupada's lecture ("Blockhead To Bhakta" 72/12/12 Ahmedabad, Bhagavad-gita 6.47)

    http://www.prabhupadavani.org/web/text/173.html

"So this human form of life is meant for purifying this existential position. No more birth, no more death. As soon as there is birth, there is death. If there is no birth, there is no death. So this can be done simply by Krsna consciousness. Simply by developing Krsna consciousness. That is explained in the Bhagavad-gita: janma karma me divyam yo janati tattvatah. Divyam, this word is used, divyam. So we are to undergo austerities, penances for this divyam, for transcendental life, divyam. Tapo divyam, little tapasya. In the Kali Yuga we cannot perform very severe... Krsna is very kind. He has given us different opportunity for elevating to our transcendental life in different ages. In this age, because we are so fallen and so limited, and so badly associated, that it is very difficult to undergo severe austerities and penances. We cannot go into the forest. We cannot perform yoga systems very nicely. We cannot perform yajnas. We cannot worship the Lord in temple very nicely. So many difficulties. Therefore sastra has given us concession: kalau tad dhari-kirtanat. In this age, simply by chanting this Hare Krsna maha-mantra one can be elevated. Caitanya Mahaprabhu has blessed: iha haite sarva-siddhi haya tomara. If you chant this Hare Krsna mantra you'll get all perfection, all perfection. So everything is there."

  8. The new Lord of The Rings was great. My wife and I have talked about the deep issues that it brings out. I especially like Froto now because I think he represents all of us in the sense that we all have rings we have to "just let it go!", as Sam said. In the battle scenes, I just kept thinking about Krishna and the ancient battles He fought in. Having movies about Him would be amazing and there is so much literature! I hope it comes true one day. It would be so epic! It would be a great way of presenting Krishna to others too!

  9. Dear guest,

The people who post in this section are not buddhists, but we can probably answer your questions nonetheless. I believe that buddhists do believe in the matrix, as do we. However, the difference lies in what is beyond the matrix. We believe that the matrix is our conception that we are these bodies and we are the controllers. However, beyond the matrix, we see that everything is controlled by The Supreme Controller, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. Buddhists just believe in the void, that there is nothing beyond the matrix. But, how could that be? If we have personalities within the matrix, how could everything outside the matrix be impersonal? There is a personality beyond the matrix, Krishna, or the Supreme Creator of Everything, including the matrix. I hope that this has clarified somethings for you.

    Haribol Prabhu!

  10. Tarun,

Thanks for the reply and concern. I actually woke up this morning and my tongue was more normal today. The color wasn't too dark, but definately noticable and different than normal. It was somewhat blueish. There weren't any other features though. My stomach was somewhat upset those days too. My age is 25, almost 26 and I've been a vegetarian for only one year. One thing that I think it might have been is that I had black bean soup the night before it happened the first time. So, when I saw it, I thought ok, maybe it's the soup. Then it happened the next day too. I've eaten black beans many times before and I've never seen this. Thanks again!

    Haribol,

    Matthew

  11. but fortunately, I found the beautiful process of Krishna Consciousness. Now, even if I had such thoughts, I would never, ever destroy this body which Krishna has blessed me with. We are so fortunate to have human bodies and suicide would lead to great suffering for ourselves, and those who we are close with. I wish you pleasant thoughts and best wishes.

    ys, Matthew
