Durga sampradaya is also very popular. For example, every panchaangam

published in Andhra gives a chart akin to kota (durga) chakra but cast

from Sun's star at the time of first menstruation of a lady and makes

recommendations based on that chart. Charts dividing 28 stars into 4

layers as in kota chakra are pretty popular and used for various

purposes.

They work particularly will in mundane horoscopy. Look at Pakistan's

kota chakra. When Bangladesh broke away, they had malefics in the

pillar of kota chakra. In Aug-Nov 1999 again, they had malefics in

the pillar and look at all the mess Pakistan went rhough in recent

months! They had a sort of defeat with India and all the sectarian

violence internally and turbulence in Sindh. It all culminated in

the military coup. Even today, they have malefics in the pillar and

this is a very unstable time for Pakistan.

I did not compare Sarvatobhadra chakra with kota chakra. The former

is very general and widely applicable, while the latter is used for

very specific purposes.
