Dear Murthy,

You will find many examples/experiences quoted by people on the net

favouring/praising naadi astrology as well as criticising the same.

It seems that you had a experience where all the information was

taken from you through question & answers and then the same was read

from the nadi leaf. many people either really had similar experiece

or they felt like that.

As far as my personal experience goes, I've seen around 10 nadi

readings - where no. of questions were asked while going through the

nadi leaves in order to identify the correct nadi leaf of the person.

in this process, it s true that the nadi reader does get some

information from our Yes/No answers about ur past, but not the all....

for eg: in my own case - in Q & A session, my father's name was

disclosed, my month of birth was mentioned, my starting letter was

disclosed but then when the right nadi leaf was found, I got my own

name, my wife's name, my father/mother's name, my date of birth, my

education, nature of present job, about my brother, about my wife's

education, job, my present age, no. of children and their gender....

so all this information was not disclosed to him....

 

so my observation is that it is possible that the nadi reader is a

cheat but that will not mean that nadi astrology as a whole is a

cheat...

and this is true like in other fields - suppose if you found a doctor

with a fake degree, it does not mean that whole medicine is fake,

isn't it?

 

And I believe that one of the reason or possible benefit of nadi

research is to list out authenticate nadi reading centres so that the

seekers can be guided in future to the right place & will be saved

from any cheating & this will not unnecessary create bad reputation

of nadi astrology....

Dear Karthik.

What kind of chart did you get from Naadi. Since you

say that you know astrology as a hobby, did you

compare your natal chart( whether Sayana or Nirayana)

with the Naadi chart and what difference did you find.

As I am studying this aspect of Naadi astrology, I

would appreciate your co-op.

Hi,

 

The horoscope that the Naadi gives is Nirayana based but it is

difficult to identify what kind of ayanamsa that is used since there

is no degree specified however there is normally a shift in position

of mercury as the panchangam that is followed in a South indian vak

panchangam.

 

Whenever your go for repeated readings you get to hear the transital

position of mainly sun, jup, sat ( at times rah ) , this matches with

the position mentioned in the Vak panchangam. Vak panchangam is not

following the accepted Lahiri ayanamsa for sure since the transiting

position of Jupiter when it changes signs differs from Lahiri, but

matches more with Naadi readings.

Saw your mail , wonderful to know you were able to meet/see Mr. Poosa

muthu, unfortunate for many of us he does not do naadi reading any

more but all of us who are here to discuss naadi astrology , this

person " Mr. Poosa Muthu " has seen it all as far as naadi is concerned.

He has faced criticism of the scientific community, testing from

rationalist, labeled as superstitious but if someone in UK, US,

Germany , maharashtra , u.p. is able to see naadi is because he

brought it to light by demonstrating readings for scores of

people,preserving the sanctity of the leaves.

Dear Deshmukh, The Nadi chart was on Sidereal(Nirayana) basis. The Nadi reading said about my planetary positions as follows " Ambuliyum Vaengayile , Irai Kavi Kandeepam..." which means "Moon in Leo sign, Jupiter and Venus in sagittarius.." Now if you cast a chart for the following birth details in Sayana basis, you will find Moon in Virgo and Ven/Jup in Capricorn. If you cast the chart on Nirayana basis you will get the planetary positions as said in Nadi. DOB: Nov 16th, 1984 Time: 23 Hours 55Mins Place: 8 N 44 , 77 E 44 Hope I am clear. Yes, in the absence of planetary longitudes in Deg.

Min. Sec. or any other system for measuring angular

distances it is very difficult to know about the

system / methodology of casting charts in Naadi.The

naadi chart is therefore no helo in chart

rectification.

By the way, do you have any idea about rate of

precision /Ayanamsha followed in Vak Panchangam ?

I tried speaking to some astrologers who have been using Drig ganitha

and Vak siddhantha ayanamsa but nobody was clear even though their

level of accuracy was good,since their principles of rashi charts are

very clear comming astrology households of Tanjore/kerala. Most of

them follow the panchangam printed by Giri traders chennai. I know

that the ayanamsa was closer to Raman's ayanamsa but i think you can

get the ayanamsa from Vakyam Horoscope Explorer software. I dont think

unless someone shares the formulaes you can calculate the vak ayanamsa

reason being Vakk siddhanta itself says First observe then apply

corrections to correct your drig ganita so this means there is a human

intervention in correcting values of zodiacal recession. Since the

advent of pc based software many ppl have shifted to thiruganitha, my

personal thinking is if you cast horoscope knowing vak concepts the

horoscope will be different for many. One of the astrologer whome i

knew who was using only vak panchagam for marriage matching was so

good that people used to flock him for this, unfortunately he shifted

to Kasi for his old age else could have gathered some more answers.

I recently visited Mr. Balasubramaniam’s Nadi center in Kanchipuram. I have mixed reviews about my visit. After a lot of questioning (from the nadi leaves by the reader), the reader was able to identify my name, my parent’s names and my spouse’s name correctly. But for my date of birth, it was not proper. He asked too many questions (is it 1st week, is it 2nd week etc) and similarly with month. So it was no big deal that he eventually landed up on the correct time and date. Then he plotted my horoscope.From then on, he read out the general Kandam. But this was done after he drew my horoscope. So I am not sure here whether the rest of the stuff he read was based on my horoscope or really out of Nadi leaves. Why do they have to draw the horoscope when all they need to do is read out of the leaves? This introduces suspicion of their authenticity. Thoughts? Rajesh
