I am trying to reach you all with a request for

further clarification.

It is well known that water signifies moon, Running

(river), Stagnated (pond), Well, Dirty water (nullwa)

etc.

What is the reasoning behind ones action of throwing

some articles in?

1) Running water (river)

2) Stagnated water (pond)

3) Well water

4) Dirty water (nullaw)

I mean the actual difference between these actions.

Though LalKitab does not mention the differentiation and the reason behind picking various types of waters, yet there are some subtle hints provided in the '52 edition in the chapter when Moon is introduced. One has got to read between the lines and it is tough to understand portions of the chapter.

The river water/running water/ocean - all are treated the same. This is a substitution for "Dharma Sthan." Conversely, most of the running water upayas can be done in a "dharma shtan" of one's choice. Or, one can even pick cross roads.

Well water substitutes the running water for things to do with "paataal", the sixth house (although for Moon in the eighth, the well water is specified from a specific place.) Stagnant water (perhaps) serves as a crossover between well water and the Nullah water.

Nullah/Dirty water is mentioned only at a couple of places for throwing copper coins - (perhaps) to nullify/destroy the presence of the offending planet altogether.

These are my guesses only. Pt Ashant is reported to have mentioned some reasoning behind these "water types" but I don't have his book/s so I can't comment on his perspective.

Dheena jee has not asked for picking water ,he asks for 'paani mein

daalna' throwing in water.

throwing any thing in water means ' chandra ko saunpana , kisi cheez

ko chandra ko dena' because moon is mother of all grah and belief is

they will behave well when with mother , 'mother ki company mein

shararat nahin kar sakte'

second thought is , throwing into running water means ' apane se door

karna' grah ke prabhav ko hatana.

stagnant water like talab or pond means ' jalashaya' the 4th house ,

therefore jab kisi grah ko 4th house mein qaayam karna hota hai to

thahare paani mein dalte hai'

' kuan'or well means 'paatal' or the 6th house. jab kisi grah ko 6th

house mein qaayam karna hota hai then throw it in the well. like for

saturn in the 4th house , drop milk in the well.

ganda nallah ' dirty water nallah' means 8th house. to support venus

in 8th , drop karak things of his friends mercury and saturn in the

ganda nallah. 8th house is under 'rahu prabhav' that is why mercury

and saturn who are friends of both venus and rahu.

To my mind this is reason. other learned gurus can throw more light.
