Have any of you heard of people having more knee injuries during a Saturn combust

period? Do you feel there is a 'lesson' to be learned...example " practice humility'/bend

the knee to authority or higher power when under influence of Saturn?

I have Saturn in my first house and fell tonight on my right knee...It wouldn't have seemed

so odd except I've had pain in knees for various reasons ever since the combust period

started.

I feel to be open to the lesson I am being taught and not struggle against the cosmic

educational process. But I wondered if any of you had any special advice based on other

people's experiences during Saturn combust?

Dear Chandrashekhar and Lien

First of all Lien, if I have set up your chart correctly, retro Saturn is in your eleventh natally combined with a natal retro Jupiter, both of which are aspected by natal Mars in fourth.

In the system I use, Jupiter and Sagittarius rule knees, though some astrologers do use Capricorn for knees I know.

Using Sag/ Jupiter as ruler of knees, we can see that natally knees are afflicted due to both Mars and Saturn's aspect on Jupiter. You also have natal Rahu in ninth house, the natural house of Sag and knees and so this adversely influences knee area of the body as well.

So that takes care of the natal influence at first level of analysis.

Looking at transits on the day you hurt your knee, you had transit Jup, karaka for knees in twelfth houses of loss, while transit Saturn afflicted ninth, natural house for knees and aspected natal Jup/Saturn combination.

Transit Mars 'triggered' the natal Mars aspect on natal Sat/Jupiter also on that day, and will continue to do so until the 30th August when it then transits your eleventh house and the Jupiter Saturn combination, as well as aspecting the sign Sagittarius. Your right ankle also looks like a vulnerable part of your body with Mars, L6 of injury, placed in Aquarius which rules ankles, and transit Mars aspecting it, and natal Mars combines with Mercury L8 of accidents

In my limited experience so far Saturn aspecting Sagittarius or Pisces or Jupiter can manifest problems associated with knees or feet when other malefic planets also add their aspect to the melting pot of planets. Personally my feet are very afflicted at the moment due to Rahu transit in Pisces, so you have my sympathy.

best wishes

Margaret

Dear Lien,

Saturn in lagna (1st house) aspects the 10th house which represents the

knees of Kala purusha (Time personified). Hence the knee trouble.

Hi Chandrashekhar,

I was taught that Cap is calves, and Aquarius ankles, but clearly other astrologers have slightly different kalapurush values, though these do work for me when reading charts.

Dear Chandrashekhar,

This aspect of kalapurusha is the most beautiful and easiest to evidence the fact that the planets do affect our lives, and especially our physiology.

A simple test would be to ask members of the list to give as many charts as they can verify with Jupiter in Sag, or Saturn in Cap and we can take it from there to establish how astrology affects the limbs.

Let charts speak for themselves as to which rasi rules knees,

best wishes

Dear Margaret,

That is a good idea. I would think it would have to be Saturn in

Sagittarius or Saturn in Capricorn, if I understand what you

indicate.Perhaps aspects on 10th and 11th bhava may also have to be

factored in.

Chandrashekhar.

Dear Chandrashekhar and everyone interested,

Of course you are right in what you suggest I was merely trying to keep it simple by isolating the knee issue, mole and swakshetra effect.

For clarity and simplicity I suggested Sat in Cap and Jup in Sag charts to ascertain which person would have a mole on the knee from birth. If Cap indicates knees, then Saturn in Cap should show up as a mole on the knee from birth, due to the rule that a planet in own sign produces a mole on that part of the body from birth.

What I am saying is that in my experience only Jup in Sag shows this result of a mole on the knee, whilst Sat in Cap has always been seen to produce a mole on the calves, not the knees.

However, I look forward to seeing a chart with Sat in Cap where a mole was found on the knee from birth, to prove me wrong,

Hope this is clearer.

In answer to your request for the Brihat Jataka info the ref is ch 5 stanza 24 where the decanates are also produced. In an earlier stanza, chapt 1 I think, he allocates knees to Cap as you say, and thighs to Sag. I didn't want to overlay this info on decanates and moles and marks in this thread as it would only serve to complicate. Mine is Ushi and Sashi version though Sagar pub. Also see Horasara Ch 5 for similar version.

With regard to your mark on the knee, this is due to Ketu in Sag, as malefics give marks or scars, only benefics, or swakshetra planets give moles, but please do give evidence to the contrary.

Best wishes

Re: saturn/knees

Dear Margaret,

That is a good idea. I would think it would have to be Saturn in

Sagittarius or Saturn in Capricorn, if I understand what you

indicate.Perhaps aspects on 10th and 11th bhava may also have to be

factored in.

Dear Margaret,

I can see your point of view. I have Mars aspecting the 10th bhava and

Capricorn rasi in 2nd bhava and have a mark of red trident on forehead.

So my horoscope may not set the divergent views at rest, though Jupiter

certainly doe not occupy Sagittarius in my chart. In decanates if I

mistake not Varaha Mihira allots various organs to houses and not the

rasis. I have many commentaries on Brihat jataka including the one by

the venerated Bhattotpala. Unfortunately I do not get much time to read

them once over again and have to rely on my memory.

Let us hope we get many horoscopes so that the mystery of marks, moles

and scars is unraveled.

Regards,

Chandrashekhar.

Dear Chandrashekhar,

Do you have first decanate rising?

And did you know that in Nakshatra Purusha of the Stellar Deity, as detailed in Brihat Samhita, Chitra constellation signifies forehead? Does Mars happen to fully aspect Chitra from Gemini in your chart?

Dear Margaret,

Yes. It is the first dreshkana. By full aspect on Chitra do you mean on

beginning of Chitra, its middle or end of Chitra (that would be in Libra

anyway)? If you are looking at exact degree aspects, as against aspects

on rasis, then Mars anyway moves to the 8th bhava and would not aspect

the 10th bhava or Virgo rasi.

Dear Chandrshekhar,

The whole of Chitra represents forehead in nakshatra purusha, so with you saying:-

''I can see your point of view. I have Mars aspecting the 10th bhava and

Capricorn rasi in 2nd bhava and have a mark of red trident on forehead. ''

I assumed your Mars to be in seventh in Gemini, whilst giving the aspect to tenth house which would be Virgo if Cap is in second. As Chitra covers 23:20 Virgo to 6:40 Libra then I thought it logical to ask if your Mars might be in full aspect to this nakshatra.

Best wishes

M

Re: saturn/knees

Dear Margaret,

Chandrashekhar.

Om shri gurve namah!!!

Dear respected learened members,

First of all wishing everybody a very very happy & rejuvenating Shri Krishna

Janamastami !!!!!

Now I request you to please clear my doubts & confirm through this data

about the mole & scars concept in detail.

DOB : 09 th June 1984

TOB : 09:05 PM

POB : Delhi

This native has sagittarius janam lagna with Swakshetri Jupiter in it born

in chitra nakshatra 4 charan.

Do number, size or darkness of moles make any difference in good results.

Please explain with the reference to the points mentioned below:

He has 2 moles on right thigh.

He has 1 mole on right knee cap.

He has 2 moles on right calves.

He has 2 moles on right hand little finger.

He has 1 mole on his left eye cap.

He had a cut through ceiling fan on his head in childhood which left stiches

scars on the middle of forehead.

He had cut in right foot thumb's head position by wall fan in childhood. But

there is no any scar instead a mole has appeared in the root of thumb of

right leg in his adult age.

Does these things give any resemblance with jupiter in sagittarius lagna?

Since this native has 9th,10th+7th, 11th+6th lord in 6th house(Taurus)

i.e.(Sun,

Mercury, Veneus) with Rahu & 2nd+3rd, 5th+12th, 8th lord in 11th

house(Libra) i.e. (Saturn, Mars, Moon) in lagna chart.

Please through some bright light on these & clear it with reference to

principles of body parts wrt planets in rasis.

with best regards

Shree Shyam

Dear Shyam,

Birthmarks in the form of moles or marks and injuries after birth are

dealt with separately. Ketu in 12th bhava of natal chart indicates the

possibility of some mark on left eye as the 12th bhava does indicate

that and Sun another malefic does aspect the 12th in natal chart. You

also find Saturn aspecting Sagittarius rasi and Jupiter aspecting the

9th bhava indicating moles on thigh. I am sure you can work out other marks..

Mars aspecting the 2nd does indicate possibility of scar on face which

you confirm is there on account of an accident.

Chandrashekhar.
