as explained in my previous mails, after death the body needs to be

cremated and the graveyard keeper ensures that kapala moksham

happens i.e. the skulls breaks with a thud sound and the soul

departs from the body and sometimes its journey was also seen with

the fire following up to certain height. these are all eerie scenes

which is why children and women are not allowed in the graveyard.

if any dead body is just thrown into the sea or buried, the atma

stays there. many tantriks dig up the graves and take out these

skulls to control that soul and perform petty miracles. the

bottomline is that if dahana samskaar has been performed to the

deadbody, rest assured the departed soul is happy. also after the

departure, twelve days a pindam is offered on a daily basis.

afterwards pindam is offered on a monthly basis (masikam) for one

year. afterwards once in a year on the death tithi, a pindam is

offered. it is written in shastras that if a pindadaan is offered

at gaya in bihar, it is no sin if the native does not offer monthly

or yearly pindams.

 

the only best solution for offering pindams to all the departed

souls is to perform "naandi shraddh" at gaya in bihar on any day

(all 365 days are ok without any muhurtam) wherein pindams are

offered for two generations on both sides. albeit this shraddh can

be performed at any place, as per classics, the native would be

saved from the curses of all ancestors ONLY IF THIS PINDADAAN IS

DONE AT GAYA IN BIHAR. also Gaya is the only place of hindus where

the tomb of a demon atop of which lord vishnu's footprint is placed

is worshipped. also this gaya is unique because it is the only

temple where pindams for departed souls are offered in the sanctum

sanctorum. lord rama performed shraddha for his father dasarath at

Gaya.

 

last year one of my customers was suffering from such curses from

his ancestors and he visited gaya and performed this naandi

shraddh. within a month he and his brother got promotions and are

happy.

what i wrote earlier is true but your query on other religions not

cremating is a sensitive issue and any discussion further may hurt

their sentiments. hence i avoid going further unless other members

have no objection on discussing this subject in detail. even in

hinduism, there are some exceptions for infants, saints and other

categories of people.
