This remedy (as Rahu kala Lemon lamp parikara) is followed in many

temples in Tamilnadu. It is also sanctified by HH Chandrasekharendra

swami in his books ( I can surely name it). I am sure all over

India. There are many such local customs & beliefs that are followed

with faith, "faith" being the operative word. I am sure God would

not deny a prayer simply because it is performed in a way not

sanctioned in the vedas. If that is the case Thinna would never have

become saint Kannappa (and so on).

 

The "give money to the Nadi astrologer" part sounds very suspect, I

agree. Anyway, this field has a lot of touts and "karna pischachini"

practioners, it is true that one has to be very careful.

 

The belief is that the siddhas/maharishis do not "die" and also

aren't they supposed to have vision of the past, present and

future "Trikalagnana". I cannot believe that Sage Vyasa or any other

maharishi for that matter is "gone".

 

That the Shiva linga abhishekha is the simplest, cheapest and most

effective if done with faith part was fantastic.

 

I did not mean to sound insulting, as I have a great repect for you,

only disagree on certain parts.
