Namaste.

This lineage of Shri Martand Bhatt alias Shri Amritesanandanatha starts from

Adinatha, then Jagatguru Sankarabhagavatpada, then Padmapada Acharya. This

sacred tradition of Srividya passed down from Padmapada to Bimbambika; then to

Vagbhavanandanatha; then to Chidanandanatha. Handed down to Mukatamba and so

on..till Prakasanandanatha. Shri Bhaskararaya Makhin received the Purnabhisheka

from Prakasanandanatha. Shri Swayamprakasanandanatha Yogi received the Srividya

from Shri Bhaskararaya Makhin; Shri Martanda Dikshit who was a great upasaka of

Martanda Bhairava received Purna Diksha from Swayamprakasanandantha. The son of

Shri Martand Bhatt (Dikshitar) was Shri Chidambara Dikshitar who was born with

the Jnana kaLa of Chidambara Nataraja Swami, received the Purna Abhisheka from

Shri Martanda Dikshit. From Shri Chidambara Diksht, Shri Ishwara Sastri

Dikshit received the Purna Abhisheka Diksha. And the lineage is still

continuing at Sholapur, Hyderabad, Rotegaon & Belgaum.

Shri Amritesanandanatha was the diksha nama of Shri Martand Bhatt. Nagesha

Bhatt's son was Shankar Bhatt. Shankar Batt's Son was Shri Tryambaka Bhatt.

Shri Tryamabaka Bhatt's Son was Shri Martand Bhatt alias Shri Martand Dikshitar

(Dikshitar was the name conferred by Shri Swayamprakasanandantha for

successfully conducting & supervising Maha Somayaga at Morgod, Karnataka).

Some of the wonderful Srividya Upasakas who received the instructions were Shri

Rajarama Ji etc. whose 4th generation is at Rotegaon which is near Shirdi at

Maharashtra.

Shri Martand Bhatt and Shri Ananth Bhatt were the 2 favourite disciples of Shri

Amritesanandanatha Yogi (the direct disciple of Shri Bhaskararaya Makhin).

Before initiating Shri Martand Bhatt into Srividya, Shri Amritesanandanatha

wanted to test the Guru Bhakti of the same. So, Shri Amrita Yogi invoked

Leprosy disease on him and wanted the 2 disciples (Shri Martand Bhatt & Shri

Anantha Bhatt) to serve him. Both of them passed the litmus test by serving the

guruji everyday by cleaning the dirt, pus, worms everyday. Highly pleased with

the guru bhakti of Shri Martand Bhatt & Shri Anantha Bhatt, Shri

Amritesanandantha with his yogic power cured himself and conferred purna diksha

to both of them.

The 5th generation of Shri Martand Bhatt Ji is currently in Hyderabad who are

close friends of mine.

This is an example to show that HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO GET INITIATION IN

SRIVIDYA FROM A GOOD LINEAGE AND THAT TOO FROM A SIDDHA PURUSHA.

Dear Brother,

I do not think Shri Martand Bhat would have gone to such a level of testing the

disciples by invoking leprosy in him. A real guru confers his total divine self

into the disciple and makes the disciple a " Guru " like himself and NOT SISHYAS.

gurus have total compassion and therefore to me this action looks an

impossibility, perhaps hearsay. It is also relevant to point out that when Shri

Martand Bhat achieved the goal of human life - total mergence with the Divine

beyond the stula and sukshma, he would have never thought of undergoing such a

turmoil by inflicting himself with such a disease. Is it his Ego to show that He

is great and can cause such diseases and cure them also. Is there any record to

prove this other than hearsay. Is there any written record done by the

decendents particularly. When a devotee approaches the Guru to become his

disciple, the Guru knows very well the spiritual condition of the devotee and

therefore there is no necessity to test them. If a Guru cannot bless a person by

merely looking at him, He cannot bless the person by raising his hands.

For heavens sake let us not try to show some one's greatness by bringing such

instances to the attention of devotees, as that would bring a negative thinking

in them that they are not fit for Srividhya. Great Gurus always shower their

grace on everyone without caste, creed, distinction and colour.

it is unfortunate that in Srividhya people try to build up stories, which

depresses the would be devotee totally. Great Gurus are very simple in every

aspect and do not show their superiority under any circumstances. They vibrate

always peace, harmony, divine energy and they would never thinking of testing a

disciple.

I may be execused if i am abrupt in my thinking. Some Gurus insist that one

should do 100000 avarthis of Ganapathy before giving the next mantra like Bala

and perhaps such persons have not mastered even maha ganapathy, leve alone

having the competency to initiate others in Bala, panchadasi or maha shodasi.

Dear Divine,

It is unfortunate that you want to write something tic for tact. No real Guru

will want to put his disciple into any trouble however minimal it may be. Guru

always blesses for salvation and Lakshmi kataksham, as He always has a policy

of " Empty stomach cannot realise god " .

What is wrong in giving to people energised spatika sriyantra and maha meru.

Don't you think that in this mundane world one need money for everything

including taking care of the family, serving the guru and what not. Will not a

srividhya guru energise the sriyantra and give it to disciple. if it is not

energised it is just a junk and perhaps the Guru has no divine energy to give.

If a Guru never advertises himself, in what spehere he does not advertise

himself. The mere fact that his divine energy spreads all over the universe in

itself an advertisement inviting the fellow human beings to come to him to enjoy

the bliss. Please do not try to make politics out of a mite into a mould. This

is bad.

How do you say that the guru never charges any money for energising. Do you have

any proof. Then why pay Guru dakshina and why you want to browbeat about the

guru parampara. Is it not advertisement. Whether he advertises by himself or

through some one like us, it is still advertisement.

Please do not try to thrust your bookish knowledge and this forum is for free

exchange of ideas, so that all of us will come up together. Please execuse me if

I am wrong, eventhough you may be an youngster than me 77 years age.

The antecedents or capacity of any Guru is never questioned and it is for the

disciple to understand. Several recent episodes of the leelas of various gurus

are evident how the present day gurus behave.

Dear Sriramji,

Thanks a lot. Age is no criterior for achievement or experience of the divine.

I still hold the view that if a Guru wants to make one a disciple then perhaps

he has the ego to test him. On the other hand if the Guru wants to make the

disciple into himself, then there is no testing and the only qualification for

the disciple is to surrender totally to the Guru. What is the fun in telling

stories about what one did to the other.

Take for instance Viswamitra cursing Harichandra. People think that Viswamitra

is bad in temple. This is not. He had acquired so much power doing penance for

more than 3000 years at a time, he wanted to get out of the " power grossness " .

He could find none to take his powers and finally he had to choose Harichandra

and cursed him but at the same time gave him all the powers he had acquired to

Harichandra, to enable Harichandra to overcome all the hurdles. That is the

Guru.

Please do not be under the misconceived notion that I am trying to question any

guru parampara however big or small it may be. My intention is to understand the

qualities of a true Guru who can make the sishya become HIMSELF in just one

look, with no tests. What fun is there for any guru to test the devotee, when

finally he wants to make the devotee his disciple. Hashe no capacity to make the

devotee fit for His grace merely on one glance. If He is really capable, he

would have removed all the grossness, impurities, impressions etc., of the

disciple in one stroke. If He does not want to do that and give some test, it

clearly means that He is epitome of Grossness of divine energy and ego.

Again I want to make it clear my notes are never meant to hurt anyone, but my

whole agony is that people are trying to build stories without having any

capacity to transmit the divine energy to everyone or enjoying the bliss.

You will also note that I have not questioned your ways and means and you are

the sole judge to decide which is best for you. I do not interfere in any means

and methods of any guru parampara and it is for the disciples and devotees to

follow whatever they want.

disease on him and wanted the 2 disciples (Shri Martand Bhatt & Shri Anantha

Bhatt) to serve him. Both of them passed the litmus test by serving the guruji

everyday by cleaning the dirt, pus, worms everyday. Highly pleased with the guru

bhakti of Shri Martand Bhatt & Shri Anantha Bhatt, Shri Amritesanandantha with

his yogic power cured himself and conferred purna diksha to both of them.

They say that gurus are of two types Siddhas and Vidvans. A combination of the

two in one is rare. If you are graced by one such then it is worth the trouble.

But if you have to make a choice between one who is only a Siddha and one who is

only a Vidvan one must choose the later. A Vidvan can given you the complete

Agamashastra that a Siddha might not be able to to give. Shastra Gyan is more

important in the bigger picture than the charisma of a Siddha.

Cheers,

RR
