Dear Members,

Last part(Message number 3911) we saw how Chandavollu Shastry Garu had cured the maladies of people who approached him with His "Theerthabhoothulu"

This posting let me narrate to you a few more mircales associated with Him.

Chandavollu Shastry Garu had a desire to print "Shreerama Kathaamrutham" and so in that connection he had been to Sathainapalli village near his place to meet a Brahmin there for collection of funds. As he was walking to the Brahmin friend's house, one 20 year old girl saw him coming and ran to him and did a namaskara with her palms calmly and then went back into the house from which she came running. Her demeanor was calm and composed when she saw him and it remained like that thereafter.

The residents of the house were surprised at this. They considered this a miracle! She was a "Grahagrastha"(one who has been affected by an evil spirit and had become a raving lunatic). She normally used to prance around with disheveled hair, abusing everyone who came near her verbally and physically, etc. And this had been going on for many years. So their consternation knew no bounds when they saw with their naked eyes the ameliorative change that had occured in the girl just by seeing Shastry Garu.

Where there is purity of sadhana, Shakthi of Divine Mother, humility of the soul, Varchas of the Vedas, Tejas of Upasana, Ojas of the Kundalini and Urdhvaretas of the Kundalini Shakthi will the mockery of an evil spirit with the bloodless eyes of shame be able to withstand the grandeur of Shastry Garu?

The parents of the girl realized this and rushed to him.

Shastry Garu said, "Ok bring the girl here, let me talk to the spirit."

The girl was brought and the evil spirit was asked by him, "What will make you leave this poor girl? You should not torment this girl, already it is your sins which has made you an evil spirit, do not sin further."

The evil spirit replied, "Oh noble and holy sire! Please give me the Japah: Phalam of Sahasra Gayathri done by you.Because your Nishta(spiritual rigour) and Satvam(Purity) is very high, so this will give me vimukthi(redemption) from the current state."

Shastry Garu without thinking twice readily said, "So be it"

He then took bath and other anushtana and did the Sahasra Gayathri then and there with the sankalpa that the evil spirit should be cast away from the body of the girl and that the evil spirit should go to a nobler realm.

Then after he chanted the mantra 1008 times he opened his palm and poured water on it and transferred the fruit of doing the Sahasra Gayathri Japa to the evil spirit and the spirit no longer stayed in the body of the girl and also attained vimukthi.

(** I had just a few days ago asserted the efficacy of Sahasra Gayathri Mantra, it helped me immensely too recently in a particular difficult situation. I'm consequnetly doing it daily two sessions, with Madhyanika Sandhyavandana being done normally(108 times only) as I have some professional work to attend. However, even once per day is more than enough for a modern day busy man)

One Nagula Chavithy day(a holy day for the worship of snakes in India), Chandavollu Shastry Garu entered the pond to take bath early morning and then as he was returning to the bank, he accidentally stepped onto a big cobra lying on the bank. The cobra began to raise his hood venemously and tried to bite Shastry Garu.

Shastry Garu realized his mistake and then chanted the Garuda mantra and put a digbandhana(nailing enclosure done mantriacally) on the snake. The snake could not even move. Slowly he came fully on the bank chanting the Garuda mantra.

He then said, "Iam blessed indeed to see you Nagaraja.I release you now from the digbandhana.I accidentally stepped on you while coming out of the river, please forgive me for this and please go your way, I mean no harm to you."

Thus saying he removed the temporary destabilizing hex on the snake. The snake slithered into the slushy river bank.

The day was spent chanting Garuda mantra for the Nagadosha.

The moment he started chanting the mantra after coming back home an Garuda bird started circumambulating the house and then sat next to him, till the day passed.People who were nearby witnessed this event much to their awe.

Such was the power of this Chandavollu Shastry Garu.

Next part we will see what happened in Kasi to Chandavollu Shastry Garu and more of his miraculous leelas there....

Yours yogically,
