Dwarkamai Chawadi Abdul Hamid baba¢s tomb Saibaba¢s Museum (must see) After dinner, wait for the shejarti at saibaba temple complex. Sit in the garden adjacent to the left arm of Saibaba¢s Murti. Ask somebody which window will open at the time of the Shejarti. Shejarti starts at 10 P.M. 26 Oct 2008 Get up early and proceed towards Shani Shingnapuri at round 6.30 A.M. as 16th is Saturday. You will be back to shirdi at around 2 P.M. You can go to the temple again if you wish to do so. In order to participate in Kakkad aarti, you need to be at the queue at least from 3 or 3.30 am. There is always heavy rush of people specially for participating the Kakkad aarti. 2) Maddhyan aarti starts at sharp 12 noon. U need to be in the queue and take your place inside the Samadhi Mandir. 3) Dhoop aarti starts at 6 pm. (winter timing). 4) Shej aarti begins at 10.30 pm. Samadhi Mandir closes at 11.30 pm. -------------------------------- Once you are inside the Samadhi Mandir complex, you can see Baba's Museum (where various articles used by Baba are kept), Guru Sthan & the neem tree (where Baba served His Guru for long 12 years), and other mandirs. If you want to donate anything, there is a counter where you can visit. You can also obtain UDI from there. -------------------------------- After you exit the Samadhi Mandir from Gate no.3, on the RHS you find Dwarkamaye (Mashid, where Baba lived). On the opposite of Dwarkamaye, you will find mandirs of Lord Shiva, Ganesh and Shani. Further moving opposite of the mandirs on the LHS, you will find Chawdi (wher too Baba used to sleep on alternate days) and on the opposite of Chawdi, you will find the samadhis of a few devotees whom Baba adored including the samadhi of Abdul Baba. Way across the narrow lane in the market area go straight and after say around 50 feet, on the LHS you can find the home of Laxmibai mata, where Baba used to go for alms and food; near by there is the well where Baba used to drink water. There are a few homes surrounding the place where you can get to know about certain facts and figures relating to Baba. Moving further on that narrow lane straight will take you to the Nashik-Pune highway. Cross the road and move 50-70 feet approx. On the RHS, you will find the temple of Khandoba where Baba was recognised for the first time when He visited Shirdi for the second time with a marriage party. On the Khandoba temple there is a narrow scretch (kept closed all thoughout the year) where you will find coal lying. In the month of December (I could not remember the exact date) the scretch is opened for devotees for a few hours while the coal is light with fire. The devotees walk through the scretch upon the burning charcoal to enter the Khandoba mandir, but nobody suffers burn. It is simply astounding. -------------------------------- There are also few mandirs besides these whose locations you can get to know once you ask the general public residing nearby.
