Ramana Maharshi Quotes

Ramana Maharshi -- Abide as the Self (A)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlRkmbqRB88

anyone interested there are

Ramana Maharshi - Abide as the Self B, C, D, etc

and several other youtube videos

only youtube video of Swamy Lakshmana direct disciple of Ramana;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-BeVGCINic

here he is teaching in silence, similar to Ramana's silent teaching.

Lakshmana,as a boy, was attacked by a frightening demon which

disappeared when the name " Rama " spontaneously came from his mouth.

Realizing the power of the name " Rama " Lakshmana stared to say it

repeatedly( nama japa ). And along with some breathing exercises, his

spiritual journey started. When he found out about Ramana, Lakshmana

went to see him briefly where he received a glance, a smile, and

silent approval. Even though Lakshmana, became familiar with the

self-inquiry practice, he continued with nama japa, but replaced

" Rama " with " Bhagavan Ramana. " He attained Self-Realization shortly

after meeting Ramana Maharshi.

A young lady became Lakshmana's main disciple( perhaps the only one ),

and started doing nama japa on " Bhagavan Lakshmana " and visualizing

his face. Lakshmana did teach her self-inquiry, but she ignored it and

continued with doing nama japa on " Bhagavan Lakshmana " and visualizing

his face. She attained self-realization in a short time. At time of

realization(awakening), the essence of self-inquiry was clear.

Soooo, Temba is definitely on the right track and setting a good

example for all of us not only with seva but with " Amma, Amma, Amma,

Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma, Amma "

Amma Bless,

amarnath
