Haraye Namah.We must all have seen some people taking pleasure in abusing / insulting / demeaning pious persons on some or the other pretext. If you are associated with persons who are in the quarrel between muths, the frequency must have been higher. What should we do on such occasions? Bhaagavatam has an answer:करà¥à¤£à¥Œ पिधाय निरयादà¥à¤¯à¤¦à¤•à¤²à¥à¤ª ईशे धरà¥à¤®à¤¾à¤µà¤¿à¤¤à¤°à¥à¤¯à¤˜à¥ƒà¤£à¤¿à¤­à¤¿à¤°à¥à¤¨à¥ƒà¤­à¤¿à¤°à¤¸à¥à¤¯à¤®à¤¾à¤¨à¥‡ ।

छिनà¥à¤¦à¥à¤¯à¤¾à¤¤à¥à¤ªà¥à¤°à¤¸à¤¹à¥à¤¯ रà¥à¤¶à¤¤à¥€à¤®à¤¸à¤¤à¤¾à¤‚ पà¥à¤°à¤­à¥à¤¶à¥à¤šà¥‡à¤œà¥à¤œà¤¿à¤¹à¥à¤µà¤¾à¤®à¤¸à¥‚नपि ततो विसृजेतà¥à¤¸ धरà¥à¤®à¤ƒ ॥

karNou pidhaaya nirayaadyadakalpa eeshe dharmaavitaryaghriNibhirnribhirasyamaane |

Chindyaatprasahya rushateemasataam prabhushchejjihvaamasoonapi tato visrijetsa dharmah ||

(4th skanda, 4th adhyaaya, 17th sloka) "Close the ears and walkout" is the minimal thing that we need to do on such occasions. Capable if you are, pull out the tongue of the abusing person and even kick the bucket says Bhaagavatam laying heavy emphasis on discouraging such abuses or demeaning of pious people engaged in dharmarakshana.Even a passive listener contributes to the sin since a sinner of the kind can continue only if he has listeners. Hence let us decide to:1. Never ever abuse or insult any pious religious leader (if we are tempted to do so due to bad company).2. Protest if we can when any one is

engaging in such talks in our presence.3. Walkout of the scene if we cannot even protest, let alone punishing him.4.
