I take this opportunity to let you know about Sri Sujayeendra Aarogyashala, Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt's Charitable Hospital, Mantralaya.

About 25 years back, HH Sri 1008 Sri Sujayeendra Teertharu, the architect of modern

Mantralaya, seeing the ever-increasing flow of Devotees and the population growth in & around Mantralaya villages envisoned a Multi-Speciality Hospital, providing Medical needs to pilgrims / devotees of Raghavendra Swamy, and also for people from all sections of society, locally & in the surrounding villages of Mantralaya.

About 20 years back, i.e. five years later, his successor, HH Sri 1008 Sri Sushameendra Teertharu fulfilled his Guru's wish and got constructed a 20 bedded Hospital, which was inaugurated by then Vice-President of India, Sri Shankar Dayal Sharma. For various reasons, the Hospital remained a mere OPD Hospital, working from 9-00am to 1-00pm & 4-00pm to 6-00pm, until very recently.

Last year, after the sudden & serious illness of HH Sri 1008 Sri Sushameendra Teertharu and seeing that there were NO FACILITIES FOR EMERGENCY CARE at the Hospital at that time and later, on the insistence of the HH Sri 1008 Sri Sushameendra Teertharu & HH Sri 1008 Sri Suyateendra Teertharu, along with Dr Roddam Prabhakar Rao, IPS DGP ® & Administrative Officer SRS Mutt & Sri Rajagopalacharya, Aaptakaryadarshi to HH Swamijis, we are given the opportunity to serve the Hospital.

After making a sat-sankalpam of pure-service (hari seva) & with blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy and ordain from Ubhaya Swamijis, in the last 2-3 months we interacted with many doctors & donors, who are service-minded & ardent devotees of Sri Raghavendra Swamy from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mysore, Raichur, Bellary, Hubli, Kurnool, Chennai etc ( & also from US) and have drawn a plan for development of facilities at Mantralaya Hospital gradually & in Stages, first by appointing about 3-4 full-time specialist & service-oriented doctors along with about 6-8 qualified, trained & experienced Nurses and associated staff, along with basic & necessary Medical equipments needed for Regular & Emergency Care, AND RUN THE HOSPITAL ON " ROUND-THE-CLOCK BASIS " ...

Also, we conducted 3 Comprehensive Multi-Speciality free Healthcheckup Camp in the Hospital premises, by a team of Specialists Doctors each from Kurnool, Raichur & Bangalore WITH PROPER PUBLICITY and have simultaneously undertaken surveys to assess & plan the activities at the Hospital, in a PHASED MANNER.

All by the grace of Sri Hari Vayu, guru Rayaru & Ubhaya Swamijis, following developments have been made in the Hospital, in the last 2-3 months.

1. The existing building has been properly renovated and necessary civil- related improvements have been made by Mutt's Engineering Dept...spending about Rs 4,00,000/-.

2. Equipments added in the Hospital. ( this is purely by various donors / devotees of Sri Rayaru, directly ):

i) Establishment of a Laboratory with automatic Bio-chemical Analyser, Microscope & manual Cell-counter all costing about Rs 2.65 lakhs.

ii) Portable XRay m/c WITH ACCESSORIES, costing about Rs 1,00,000/-

iii) Self-reporting ECG m/c (Siemens make) costing about Rs 85,000/-

iv) Cardiac Monitor .........1 no. ........ costing about Rs 30,000/-.

v) Pulse-Oxy Meter .........1 no. ........ costing about Rs 50,000/-

vi) Multi- Channel Cardiac Monitor .....1 no........costing about Rs 120,000/-.

vii) Defibrillator ......1 no. ........costing about Rs 95,000/-.

3. From 7th December, 2007 Mantralayam Hospital has signed a MOU with Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore with all necessary equipment & Software for " TeleMedicine Facility with on-line ECG reporting facility on 24 X 7, 365 days - basis...costing about Rs 1,00,000/-.( All costs taken care by the Donor.)

Further, on 1st January 2008, by the grace of Sri Raghavendraswamy, an ardent devotee & a noble donor from Chennai, has volunteerly offered to donate a new UltraSound Scanning Machine with Thermal Printer, costing Rs. 450,000/- ( Rs. 4.50 Lakhs), BY MID FEB. 2008.

Furthermore, Another Donor from Hyderabad has promised to provide an NEW AMBULANCE - new Maruthi OMNI VAN, BY 20 FEBRUARY, 2008.

4. Dr Gopal Archak Sr. Physician (MD - Internal Medicine), with 35+ years experience, ( Medical Superintendent of Govt. Bellary Medical College & Hospital and till 31st December 2007, Medical Director & Administrator at Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur,) having offered to serve the Mantralaya Hospital on full-time basis, has

already joined from 1st January 2008 & appointed as " Medical Superintendent and consultant Physician of the Hospital " .

We are now looking to set-up a Operation Theatre by renovating / converting one of existing large halls with all basic & necessary facilities at about Rs 5,00,000/-.( as assessed & estimated by professional.)

The Phase II planning ( after about an year from now), is about ENHACING the activities by building NEW BLOCKS IN THE EXISTING OPEN AREA OF THE HOSPITAL PREMISES FOR EXPANDING FROM EXISTING 20 BEDDED TO 50 BEDDED HOSPITAL ALONG WITH ADDING VARIOUS OTHER MEDICAL SPECIALITIES.

IN PHASE II+, after developing & streamlining the operations of the Hospital, by the grace of Hari, Vayu & Sri RaghavendraSwamy and blessings of Ubhaya Swamijis, we are " envisioning " to have Ayurvedic (Medical College ) Hospital, a " School of Nursing " and a Holistic - Aarogyadhama with Yoga, Music & other Indian Traditional Therapies.

Please do visit the Hospital, when you visit Mantralaya next time. We solicit your advice, suggestions and services to improve the Hospital at all times.

We eagerly look forward to your whole-hearted support & patronage, in the service of Sri Raghavendraswamy.

Also, we request you to intimate your friends & colleagues and devotees of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, about this pure service-oriented project.

Should you require any further information, please feel free to communicate to us and we will be very happy to provide the same, asap.

namaskAra Acharyarige,

I spoke to this no. it belongs to a person by name Pradeep Mokashi, who is from Pune and also a member of MYP. As per him, the incident happened during Karthika Maasa at UDP, then onwards he has been suffering from septic and probably improper treatment.

I have asked Sri Mokashi to check what would be the total expenses for this plastic surgery, on which he did not have an idea. Since the father is an employee of SRS Mutt, I have also asked him to enquire with the Mutt authorities and also Sri Rajagopalacharya / Sri Suyameendracharya incase they could expect substancial financial help.

He would check on these and revert back to me. In the meanwhike, I request Sri Varna to check if we could do something from the funds of Dhanwantri Nidhi, if you have accumulated some amount. Please confirm.

Also request Sri Sameer Atre, who is at Pune to check out what best cane be done locally
