Please suggest a Krishna name

Dear Anishji,

Radhe Krishna!

Hearty congrats. I fervently pray to Lord Guruvayoorappan to bestow

His divine grace on His namesake who has been fortunate enough to have

taken his birth in a family of Krishna devotees!

 

Any shortage in Krishna names ? Sage Garga was called in to give a

name and perform the naming ceremony of Lord Krishna. He said, "For

this child who is the Lord of the world and has infinite number of

names, I am puzzled, what name I should give. Finally, he gave Him

the name of "Krishna" which means " Sat-chit-ananda" or

"Existence-knowledge-bliss"!

I could have very well suggested that you should refer to Vishnu

Sahasranamam. but it gave me a chance to read it myself. Thank you

Hari OM!

We have two boys and their names are Adithya (10) and Achyuta (6). Their names came directly from the Vishnusahasranamam. Thank you for bringing this memory.

 

For the my first son, "Adithyo jyothiradithya sahishnur gathi satthama" was the guiding line that came to my mind. Chanting this, I put forward my 'case' to my father who used to chant Vishnu sahasra namam daily, until he passed away. He liked my approach and immediately approved the name with a mysterious smile. Usually it would be hard to get him to agree to anything without much persuation.

 

I repeated the same method for our second son also. This time, "Achyuta pradthidha prana pranado vasavanuja" was the line. 'Achyuta' was also approved by my father without puting forth a question.

 

Yes, Vishnusahasranamam is "the Source".

Navaneet krishnan is a beautiful name. . but my only request to all is whatever name we all want and keep God's name please call that name in full when ever we call the child. Ajamila got moksham because of that only. please dont shorten the name eg. Narasimhan becomes Nachu which has got entirely a different meaning.
