dear Johan,

>>What is the connection between Lord Balaram and Ananga Manjari in Goloka

>>Vrndavan?

Ananga manjari is the pleasure potency of Lord Baladeva. And Jahnava-devi is

the pleasure potency of Lord Nityananda.

CC. Adi 11.21pp. :

Jahnava-mata is also within the list of Lord Nityananda's followers. She is

described in the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, verse 66, as Ananga-manjari of

Vrindavana.

GGD 66:

66. Some say that Srimati Vasudha-devi is the incarnation of Srimati

Ananga-manjari, and others say that Srimati Jahnavi-devi is the incarnation

of Srimati Ananga-manjari. In truth, both opinions are correct. They are

both incarnations of Srimati Ananga-manjari.

And as we know from CC. Adi 1.5 by Svarupa Damodara:

ekatmanav api bhuvi pura deha-bhedam gatau tau;

Krishna and His pleasure potency are one in identity, yet they are eternally

separated.

So it goes with His elder brother.

>>Usually we say that Lord Nityananda Prabhu is Lord Balaram in Goloka, but

>>I've heard somewhere (different sources) that Nityananda Prabhu is a

>>combination of Lord Balaram and Ananga Manjari (Srimati Radharani's

>>younger sister). Does anyone have any sastric references for this?

The root cause upholding our material entanglement is that we try to see the

energy separate from the energetic. Thus we perceive contradictions. Why

would one think Lord Baladeva as different from His pleasure potency? This

flaw is the only reason for a contradiction in this matter.

Regarding Revati, the previous verse of GGD states:

65. Lord Balarama's two wives, Srimati Varuni-devi and Srimati Revati-devi,

appeared during Lord Caitanya's pastimes as Srimati Vasudha-devi and

Srimati Jahnavi-devi, the two dear wives of Lord Nityananda, and the

daughters of the great personality Sri Surya-dasa.

A contradiction? Wasn't it Ananga-manjari or Revati as Jahnavi or what? Our

limited conception of personality comes up.

If we consider Radhika as different from Satyabhama-devi, Satyabhama-devi as

different from Maha-laksmi, and Maha-laksmi different from Durga-devi, then

we have a contradiction. But that is not the case. All the goddessess of

fortune are expansions of the original pleasure potency, Vrindavanesvari Sri

Radha. Are they the same, or different? Are Visnu and Krishna the same, or

different? That I leave up to you to figure out.

>>I think it says in Krsna book that Sri Balaram has his own group of Gopis

>>in Vrndavan dham, isn't it? If that is the case, does the other Cowherd

>>boys also have Their gopis, or are they just serving Lord Krsna in His

>>pastimes with the Gopis?

Are the other cowherd boys Visnu-tattva? Thus expanding their personal

pleasure potency to increase their divine pleasure? Or are they servants of

the conjugal mellows of Vraja, meant for Lord Rasaraja to relish? Again,

food for thought.

Thank you for the beautiful impetus to write.

ys. ekatma das.
