Namaste,

Let us Wecome Sri Sharath Sankar from Chennai, Madras.

Sri Sankar's 'Abhivadhanam' is the Vedic Traditional

self introduction by the students of Vedas. Sri

Shankar says that he follows the Yajur Veda with

specialization in Aapasthamba Suthra.

May we request Sri Siddhartha Krishna or other

scholars to provide additional insights on the

'Abhivadhanam.'

We can certainly look forward to Sri Sankar sharing

his insights on the ongoing discussions and

GitaSatsang in particular.

warmest regards,

Aayushmaan bhava Shankaraa3 (Pluta)

Dear Sharath Shankar Ji,

I welcome your holy self, on behalf of all list members. We all look forward

for your insights and presentations on Yajur Veda. I'm my self looking in to

the Katyayana Shrauta Sutras of Shukla Yajur Veda Maadhyandina Samhita.

However, I have not studied the Apastamba Sutras, but I have studied a

little portion, with Bhagavan Shankaracharya's bhashya on it. And I'm

thinking to write a translation on it. If we both can discuss on it, I would

really be very glad. Adoration and prostration to you,

Siddhartha

More than that, Bhagavan Patanjali quotes a Shloka in his introduction to

Mahabhashya, "those who don't know where to say Pluta (a prolonged vowel),

should not be saluted in this way and should be saluted like the ladies

(with plain salutation)". I thank Sri Shankar ji for obeying the traditions

and I'm also proud that I have followed the tradition as well, in answering

his abhivaadana, which would be called pratyabhivaadana.

Can I ask you something, wouldn't you rather like to say, "bhavanah" (in

its masculine gender)?

Would you kindly tell me which Shaakhaa?

my abhivaadanam to you:

katyaayana-shrauta-sutraantika-shuklayajurveda-maadhyandina-shaakhaadhyaayii

vhashishtha-kulachuudaamanih vedaviccaranacancariikah
