Advaitin Satsang,

Namaste,

Excellent Harshji, I agree with you fully.

The incident last week has been a bit negative for the list. We have to ensure

that this list does not run into it again. First time it may be unfortunate

but second time it is foolish, so the saying goes.

To avoid the repetition and also give more focus to the list, I suggest the

following “SCHEDULE THE POSTS” to the consideration of the Moderators as well

as list members.

The postings to be done by an agreed by a weekly Schedule as follows:

1)Monday and 2)Tuesday: Postings on Gita, Brahmasutra, Vedas, and Advaitin

concepts of Acharyas from scriptures. This is the principal focus. Questions

can be put on these subjects only.

3)Wednesday,4)Thursday & 7)Sunday: Free posting on threads by senior & active

members. This is at present 5% of total membership (Ram, Sada,Murthy,

Madhava, Harsh, Goode, Dennis, Sunder, Tom, Kathir, Colette, Robin, Jai etc…

they are about 20). The rest are learning from their scholarly interaction.

5)Friday: Comparison notes and comments between Advaitin and other

philosophies, religious or otherwise.

6)Saturday: New members and low activity members only-postings on any subject

(members like me)

I am no expert in Advaitin but from point of view of marketing, media and

e-communication,(my professional areas) I know it helps to have a focus and

regularity.

You may disagree with the decision of Sri Murthyji and other moderators of

the list. However, they have always acted with honesty and impeccable

integrity and have remained true to the purpose and the spirit of the

Advaitin list. They have taken on the responsibility of managing the

Advaitin list and we respect their efforts and sound judgment.

There are literally thousands of lists for everyone to choose from. Every

list cannot satisfy everyone's need or even be appropriate for everyone.

Be of good cheer my friend Miguel. Enjoy and let others enjoy.

Live and let live.

Love to all

Harsha

I would just like to register my total disagreement with this suggestion.

Quite unworkable and completely undesirable.

I quite agree with Dennis. It would be like "poner puertas al campo" as we

say in Spain (wire-fencing the country). It would destroy all spontaneity.

Namaste,

Here is my reaction to the discussions on this thread

by PBV Rajan, Dennis and Mguel:

First, I find this is a highly sensitive topic and the

on going discussion confirms this. Ideally such

suggestions should have been sent to the moderators to

their email address (Advaitins) instead of

to the list.

Few weeks back, Sri Sunderji (Coordinator of

GitaSatsang and a moderator) has suggested that the

list should conduct a survey to find member's

preferences and suggestions for improvement. This is

an excellent idea and the list will seriously make an

attempt soon.

In future, I request the list members to send their

suggestions to one of the moderators for future

actions. All such suggestions can be sent to the

following Email Address:

<Advaitins

This is an email address that the list has set it to

get feedback from the members. I encourage members to

use this email address to send their suggestions

including their complaints. Everything that we receive

at the Email address will be strictly confidential and

will not be released to the list without the member's

permission.

We can greatly help each other by focus our thoughts

and discussions mostly on the subject matter of

discussions. As for as possible, members are requested

to provide supporting references and such references

will help those who want to learn more.

warmest regards,

Ram Chandran
